Is it just me or do Angels' pitchers not use this pitch anymore? There are a few guys on the team that can employ this pitch effectively. Guys like Jepsen, Richards, Frieri, Lowe(lol), yet they don't throw them often or at all and this goes back years. Only time they throw a high fastball is to set up the next pitch and It's always too high for the batter to chase.

 

Percival used this pitch with great effectiveness and even as his out pitch. All around the league, guys that throw mid 90s use this pitch. How many times have opposing pitchers stuck out Trout on this exact pitch?
