I doubt he didn't know exactly what he was doing, then let the team in on his gag.  They probably spilled the beans to The Man.  I'm just saying it's difficult to prove he did it; I'm sure he admitted to it eventually.

Gotta give him credit though; he's bleeding the schools' colors.
