OC Register: Autopsy on Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs scheduled for Tuesday

Recommended Posts

ARLINGTON, Texas — An autopsy on Tyler Skaggs is scheduled for Tuesday, a day after the Angels pitcher was found dead in his room in the team hotel.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office will perform the autopsy. It’s unclear how long it would take to release the results, and what information would be included.

The Southlake, Texas, police department on Monday announced that foul play had been ruled out as a cause for the 27-year-old’s death. Police later added that suicide “does not appear” to be the cause.

A police spokesman on Tuesday said results of their investigation would not be available for four to six weeks.

The Angels’ game against the Texas Rangers was postponed on Monday, following the shocking news. As of Tuesday morning, Tuesday’s game remained scheduled for 7 p.m. central time.

General manager Billy Eppler, manager Brad Ausmus and president John Carpino were scheduled to meet the media at Globe Life Park in Arlington at 4:30 p.m. central time.

More to come on this story.
