Cleveland has just completed a four-game sweep of the M's with a Yan Gomes walk-off 3-run home run in the 10th inning, his second homer of the game. Seattle has now lost 5 of their last 7 games. On a side note, Cleveland is 15-3 in the month of May.

By Scott Stedman, AngelsWin.com Staff Reporter - 1. Randal Grichuk, OF, Arkansas Travelers Past 10 Games: 13/39 (.333), 5 Doubles, 0 Triples, 3 HRs, 9 Runs, 9 RBIs, 0 SB Overall: .228/.281/.463 with 6 HRs and 1 SB What’s Up: Randal Grichuk is single-handedly proving that the pitcher-friendly Double-A does not always damper power hitter's numbers. Though it took Grichuk a month or so before the average started to climb, his power remained consistent, leading the team in extra-base hits with 19. His 1.042 OPS in the last 10 games shows that this extraordinary power does not displays signs of slowing anytime soon. Grichuk continues to draw parallels to Royals …

The next time Hamilton fails to put a ball in play with the bases juiced, or Aybar boots a double play ball, or the pen blows a lead . . . By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - MAY 20, 2002 GAME 42 - ROYALS AT ANGELS ANAHEIM – Eight different players had at least one hit and five had at least one RBI as the Angels spread it around and beat the Kansas City Royals, 6-3, before 14,035 at Edison Field. Angels starter Kevin Appier threw a serviceable 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and six hits to get the win and improve to 5-1. Four relievers combined to close it out, finishing with Troy Percival, who threw a perfect ninth for his seventh save. Troy Glaus and Scott Spiezio each had two hits as the Angels improved to 25-17 and closed their deficit in the A.L. West to 3 ½ games, the closest…

I am going to be in Kansas City this week for that series. The Angels website has Jerome pitching Tuesday and CJ pitching on Wednesday. Is this correct? So Blanton on Thursday, Vargas on Friday etc? Are we skipping Enright with the day off? Thanks!

By Jonathan Northrop, AngelsWin.com Columnist - A Brief History of Franchise Ineptitude I’ve never really liked the way the Angels were run. I started following the team around 1980, although I was just a kid and only vaguely followed them, not getting serious about the team until 1987, the year after their ill-fated 1986 campaign. The Angels had been to the playoffs three times in the previous eight years, and finished 1st or 2nd in the division in six of the last nine years (1978-86), so for most of my early years they had been a contender. After the accursed 1986 season, the franchise entered another dark age that rivaled their first decade and a half; as wit…

Burnett pitched last night: 1 IP, 1 HR(in High Desert, and it sounded like it was wind aided), 3 groundball outs. Jepsen just got off the mound: Error by one of his infielders, DP ball, groundout. Was throwing almost all strikes.

First of all, Iannetta was insane seeing 27 pitches, but also important to note Hamilton saw the second most at 20. He does seem to be doing better lately. The game against Sale was brutal but other than that he is seeing the ball better. At least some of you. I remember the Artie is cheap. Fire Stoneman, he can't make the big trade! You have no right to be bitching, you got what you asked for! Instead of saying, I was wrong, now it's Fire Scioscia, Fire Dipoto! Maybe they should be fired, for listening to the fans and giving them what they wanted. No more Scioscia ball! Be careful what you ask for, because you may not be happy with the results.

Infielder joins the club, his third in the last three weeks, after being picked up on waivers from the New York Yankees. 'They just told me to take my essential stuff,' he says. Chris Nelson , the newest Angel, strode into the clubhouse just after 8:30 Sunday morning, found his corner locker and began to unpack. It didn't take long. View the full article

Any word on his rehab? I thought he was basically supposed to be pitching every second or third day in Salt Lake, but it looks like he has not made an appearance since May 13.

I'm waiting for this guy to get figured out, but he keeps hitting (just hit another home run). The saddest is that we could have used him to acquire some pitching help like Trevor Bauer.

Vargas (3-3) gave up just three singles and a double to win his third straight decision. Left-hander Jason Vargas blanked the Chicago White Sox for seven innings and catcher Chris Iannetta sparked two rallies with a pair of walks Sunday, leading the Angels to a 6-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox before a crowd of 38,190 at Angel Stadium. Presuming we lose tonight the team is on pace for 103 losses. Just to reach 81 wins the team needs to play at a 87 win pace ROS. Not happening. To reach 90 wins the team needs to play at a 100 win pace. Not happening.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - MAY 19, 2002 GAME 41 - ANGELS AT WHITE SOX CHICAGO -- If the Angels wanted to put together a highlight video of their recent hot stretch, the top of the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox could serve as the intro. Pinch-hitter Orlando Palmeiro goes the opposite way with a double to left. One out later, Palmeiro steals third on his own. On the next pitch, the squeeze is on and David Eckstein bunts a tough pitch -- a slider low and away -- to the right side. Not only does Palmeiro score, but Eckstein beats it out for a base hit. They call it little ball, but it has been big for the Angels as th…
