Just blew a 3 run lead against the Jays, giving up a walk off double to Munenori Kawasaki, a guy that hit sub .200 last year. Just goes to show how much of a toss up relievers are. There are two guys in the game today that i would call automatic: Mariano and Kimbrel.

The Yankees designated Nelson for assignment two days ago. Nelson hit .222/.243/.278 in ten games with the Yankees, who acquired him for a PTBNL or cash after the Rockies designated him for assignment.

They wipe out a two-run deficit to defeat the Kansas City Royals, 5-2. Left-handed reliever Sean Burnett exits the game because of tightness in his forearm. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Angels extended their winning streak to eight games with a 5-2, come-from-behind victory over the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday, but they may have lost another key reliever in the process. They've spent some time during this inning (Dodger/Cardinals game on FOX) talking up the Angels big time. Giving kudos to Trout, Trumbo ("he can pound home runs with the best of them"), and saying Hamilton looks to be turning a corner. McCarver said Trout's home run the other day "has still not come down". I don't remember these two being all that positive about our team.

Angels tried to swing a trade with the Marlins for Cabrera in 2007 but a deal wasn't reached. Had it panned out, the Trout-Cabrera tandem would have been a force.

As Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout lay the foundation for another spirited race for American League most valuable player, imagine how frightened pitchers might be if Cabrera followed Trout in the lineup. View the full article

Seriously, hitting .250, just 3 walks and only one stolen base. I'm trying to wrap my mind around how Scioscia pencils him in that spot on a daily basis. Bourjos, come back soon! But until then, I'd like to see JB Shuck in that spot with Aybar in the 9-hole. To make matters worse for Aybar, his defense has been pretty terrible this season as well.

Billy Bucker delivers a curveball instead of the pitchout catcher Hank Conger calls for, resulting in a wild pitch. Angels win seventh straight, 7-0 over Royals, as Billy Buckner pitches five shutout innings in first appearance since 2010 and Josh Hamilton, Hank Conger homer. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A week ago, the Angels had no idea who was going to pitch for them Saturday. The way they're playing now, does it really matter? View the full article
