Rob Neyer over at SB Nation is infatuated with Coello's mystery pitch. It is an original forkball that hasn't been thrown in decades. The problem is modern forkballs are diffrent and 'original forkball' is kind of lame. Here's the article: http://www.baseballnation.com/hot-corner/2013/5/28/4374234/naming-robert-coellos-mystery-pitch I thought we could give him a hand. Current Nominees: WTF Pitch (Coello's name for it) ****leball (not TV or forum appropriate) Forkleball Knorkleball ... This could be fun, any ideas?

On May 20th, at age 21, Mike Trout became the youngest American League player to hit for the cycle and the youngest overall since 1929 when Mel Ott accomplished the feat at age 20. Since their inaugural season in 1961, the Angels have had players hit for the cycle just seven times, twice completing the achievement with the minimum four at bats. See the attached file for an illustrated look at Trout's cycle and others in the org over the years. http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/?app=downloads&module=downloads&controller=view&id=14

Outside of 1986 and 1995, what is your biggest disappointment as an Angels fan? Mine is when I missed listening to Mike Witt's perfect game because I wanted to watch the Raiders instead. I tuned in to the postgame show on the radio and they were talking about it. I could have kicked myself!

Unfortunately, being on the east coast, I don't see the Angels as much as I'd like. I caught much of last night's game and I thought that Blanton, a few mistakes aside, looked pretty good. What I would like to know from you is was this an aberration or is this his normal stuff which subsequently gets hit hard? I saw an excellent curve, good mileage on the fastball and a sinker. With what I saw, it made me wonder why he's been so awful with us.

I believe so. A game that we could not lose, yet somehow did. Lost a game to both Oakland and Seattle. These are demoralizing-type losses when you're trying to climb out of a deep hole.

Pitcher had been dealing with mental issues since the death of his stepbrother. Tommy Hanson spent six days away from the Angels — long enough, he thought, to mourn the death of his stepbrother. In his second start after rejoining the team, catcher Chris Iannetta called time out and walked to the mound. View the full article
