Lefties against Blanton: .336/.379/.504 Righties against Blanton: .412/.440/.637 First pitch swingers are 13/27 with 3 HR 4 2B 1 3B and a 1.519(!) OPS. Even on 0-2 counts he's allowed 4 hits in 12 times. Between his 46-60 pitch zone during the game, hitters have a 1.292 OPS against. I don't think it takes a genius to realize how truly awful he's been but these stats are mind boggling bad. Maybe he should think about mixing up some of his first pitches so hitters aren't killing him.

Crazy that our leadoff hitter, then two-hole guy has more RBI (34) than Trumbo, Pujols, Kendrick and Hamilton. Just a testament of how good Trout is.

He won 19 games, but had a memorable 9th inning hiccup in old Skankee Stadium in the summetime that may have ultimately denied him the one chance in his career to win 20 games. Halos led 8-0 going to the bottom of the 9th inning. Skankees scored a few runs, and then Tanana was taken out and the Skankees ultimately tied the game. The Halos won it in extra innings, but no 20 wins for Tanana may have resulted.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/don-mattingly-benches-andre-ethier-because-won-t-171916851.html Ouch. Ethier isn't performing well, obviously, but it seems really weird to be calling him out. Especially when he just got kicked out of a game 2 days ago and showed some intensity.

I know the team and Trout's agent had some issues with his 2013 salary and it's nice to technically have "control" of the player before we have to lock him up long term or deal with arbitration but I would love to see the team make him an Angel for life sooner than later. A sign of good faith from the team this early could result in a (small) discount. What do we think the contract would be? 10 years, $260 million? Thoughts?

Off to a good start. Maybe one of the bright spots in the minor leagues. Love his size at 6'5, should be pretty durable. 22 years old and after three starts at A+: 2-0, 2.20 ERA, 16.1 IP, 11 H, 8 BB, 17 K's, 1.29 GO/AO, Opp avg. .183, Obviously would like to see lower walk total, but in 1 of the 3 starts he had 4 BB's but in the same game only allowed 1 hit and 0 ER, so he was still very, very effective. Someone to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

I don't even look at the standings or care if the Rangers or teams the Angels are chasing win or lose. To me, I'm entertained and completely satisfied watching exciting Angels Baseball. If they keep it up, all good things will come together for the good of all Angels fans. We all expected these types of performances from the Angels out of the gate, but unfortunately it has taken this long for this super talented team to click. Be that as it may, I don't care about April 1 - mid-May. The past is in my rearview mirror and postseason or not, I'll be satisfied from here on out as a fan if they play up to their abilities for the rest of the season.

Aberration? I think not. Pitches to contact. Works quickly. Doesn't shake off. Doesn't nibble.

...playing in Salt Lake, that is. He's hitting .333 with a .429 OBP in four games. Shuck has been pretty solid but I'd love to see Kole get a chance before Bourjos comes back.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - MAY 22, 2002 GAME 44 - ROYALS AT ANGELS ANAHEIM – It would have been completely understandable had the Angels lost Wednesday night's game to the Kansas City Royals. After all, a team can't win every night. And besides, they had fallen behind 5-0 to the best pitcher no one's heard of in Royals starter Paul Byrd, who entered the game tied for the American League-lead with seven victories. But Byrd eventually tired and the Angels started scoring. And scoring. Tim Salmon's two-run homer in the seventh got the Angels going, before a five-run eighth inning pushed the Angels past the Royals for a 7-6 victory before 16,1…

A Quote from Scioscia "There's so much that can come together here in a very short time," Scioscia said. "We're definitely excited at the prospects of having a reworked bullpen here in the next week." I have to agree i am a little excited about these next few days (week). Madson about to throw a rehab Burnett is back for tonight be nice to see: Burnett for the 7th frieri in the 8th Madson for the 9th? Weaver's return is not far off... Vargas has had quality starts C.J. looks pretty locked in although sorta laboring Tommy Hanson not far away Who knows.. maybe there is hope.

Offense begins to click as Angels win fourth in a row, with C.J. Wilson as beneficiary. Josh Hamilton stood alone in the far corner of the Angels' clubhouse early Wednesday evening, looking far too frustrated for a guy whose batting average is higher than it has been in nearly a month and whose team is on its longest winning streak in nearly a year. So Tuesday morning, my friend is driving through the parking lot of her local Newport Beach Vons. She sees a beautiful black mercedes with a driver who looks very familiar...it's the kid she watches every night on her TV...so she parks her car and watches where #27 goes next. This friend has seen many pro atheletes at her local grocery store, and she usually says nothing, but she's a big Angels fan....and she has a son about his age...and the teams had a rough start....and.. she decides to follow him into the Starbucks. Inside it's just her, Trout and the barista. It would be rude not to say anything. "Good luck tonight," she says simply. He responds …

Leads the team in average and hits. You guys still hate Howie Kendrick? Also a .316 BA with RISP. Only Pujols and Trout (.333) have a better average. His OPS with RISP (.972) is second to Trout (1.032) 4th on the team in RBI (25) behind Trout (34), Trumbo (29) and Pujols (27)
