Like many have said, if Blanton can be removed the team would have a bit of a chance to get on a roll. Once Weaver returns, should Richards get the last spot or leave Williams in? I looked at his stats since coming on the team. They're serviceable, but I believe Richards should be given the opportunity to screw up the job rather that delegate him to the bullpen. If Jepsen, Madson, and Burnett return , he may not really be needed there and no way should he return to AAA.

Both were traded away. If you could have one or the other back, who would you pick? I would pick Corbin since the Angels already have a solid shortstop and could really use pitching help. Who would you return?

I've already seen him get beat by two throws where he would have been safe last year. One of these were a mishandle that was really shocking and the other one was damn near tailored for an infield base hit.

F yeah!!! This is the type of game to get Trout and the Halos back on track. This is the team I expected to see coming out of the gate to start the season. .

When Mike Trout got off to a relatively slow start this year, there was a widespread feeling around the game that it was bound to happen, that he couldn't possibly live up to what he achieved in a 2012 rookie season for the ages. View the full article

Hello all. I am a baseball fan from Chicago that will be visiting my old college roommate in LA this June 21-25. I have a personal goal of seeing all 30 MLB stadiums and I am hoping to cross off the Angels and the Dodgers on this trip. I’d like to see the Angels on either June 21 or 22 against the Pirates. Not sure of my buddy’s exact address, but he said he is close to Dodger Stadium (trying to get his exact address asap). We wont have a car. Is there any practical way to get out to the stadium from where we are? He has been living in LA for a year but isn’t a big sports guy so he doesn’t really know. I am completely unfamiliar with the territory as I’v…

Happy Birthday to Josh Hamilton. So what's left in the tank? Will we ever see the .299 / 34hrs / 117rbi's version of Josh Hamilton or are we in for another long drawn out tooth extraction contract.

That's four straight error free games and nine of the last eleven. Good to see secure leather out there and not a surprise that it coincides with wins. Wow, this place gets lonely when the team wins.

Outfielder, 21, is the youngest to accomplish the feat since Mel Ott with the New York Giants in 1929. Josh Hamilton hits a home run and triple on 32nd birthday and Jerome Williams strikes out six over eight innings. The Angels gained a game on the Texas Rangers. That was the big news. This past week I had the opportunity to talk to someone in the Dodgers organization. Naturally, being an Angels fan the conversation went to a player the two teams have in common, Zack Greinke. When asked if he'd consider parting ways with Greinke in return for Jean Segura, his response was candid and measured "I think a lot of teams would give up a lot for Jean Segura". This led to a fascinating conversation about how he believes the market has finally shifted. Top prospects have always been viewed as currency for teams that need help at the deadline. My Dodger contact didn't specifically state that prospects will no longer be dealt, but perhaps an era of top p…

Mike Trout has already accomplished a lot in his brief Major League career, but on Tuesday he added something to his list of achievements -- the cycle. Trout went 4-for-5 with five RBIs, and at 21 became the youngest to hit for the cycle since Mel Ott did so as a 20-year-old in 1929. View the full article

#Angels activate LHP Sean Burnett from DL. RHP Ryan Brasier optioned. @JeffFletcherOCR 9m #Angels Jered Weaver could be activated after his Wednesday extended spring game if all goes well. #Angels Tommy Hanson is in Arizona and will face hitters in the next couple days. Most likely won't be able to start Saturday. #Angels Ryan Madson will report to SLC after a workout in Anaheim on Wednesday. Regarding Bourjos: @samkarim89 doing cage work hitting. Not yet running fully. Few weeks away

It takes one glance at Blanton's numbers to tell you just how awful he has been this year. I had been wondering what it would take for him to get his overall numbers back to respectable levels, so I did a little math. What I found made me LOL, and then cut my wrists. In 9 starts this year, Blanton has pitched 50.1 innings. He is projected to make 33 starts, so lets assume he stays healthy and finishes with 33 games started. That would put him at about 184 innings pitched. In order for Joe to get his ERA below 5.00, he has to pitch at a 4.38 ERA the rest of the year. Or, slightly better than his career average. In order to get his WHIP down below 1.50, he has to pi…

510 approximately, and only ONE season between 2001-2012 saw them have at least 500 BBs (in 2009). Even Trumbo is on pace for about 70 BBs.
