I love this Yahoo article and completely agree. I particularly like the part where he says "The lineup is solid all around and also happens to have three former league MVPs in Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols and Mike Trout (give it a rest, Miguel Cabrera fans, your old-timey Triple Crown bores me)." My prediction: This team kicks ass the rest of the year and wins 90+ games, sneaks into the postseason, and wins the freakin' World Series! You heard it here first. (And yes, I have been drinking).

As upset as I am about the loss tonight, the team was bound to lose. And, on paper, this game looked like a loss with Greinke on the mound. But, a quick turn of the page should get us back into the swing of things. It's really a simple formula: Good pitching = wins. And CJ kinda sucked tonight. Who would have thought at this point of the season that our two best starting pitchers would be Jerome Williams and Jason Vargas?

A mathematical article on the odds of hitting for the cycle: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-odds-of-hitting-for-the-cycle/ However, my favorite line is this: "Since triples are the hardest part of hitting for the cycle, we have to wonder how easy it will be for a bulky Trout to leg out a triple as he advances in age." Made me laugh.

How much is it a myth or real. I always hear stories of MIckey Mantle and Babe Ruth hitting tape measure shots. I even heard of Babe Ruth hitting a 600 foot shot lol. Mantle was a physical freak and naturally strong it is possible. Don't you think though in todays time with the bigger, stronger athletes that their would be more shots in the 500 feet range. With the nutrition, suppliments, and work out programs. Do you think that Trumbo will ever hit a 500 foot shot in a game. He does have the longest home run this season with a 475 ft shot http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=26704051&topic_id=10025018&c_id=mlb

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - MAY 28, 2002 GAME 48 - ANGELS AT ROYALS KANSAS CITY -- It's official. The Angels have come back to earth. After winning 21 of 24 games and making the rest of the league take notice, the Angels have now lost three of their past four games, including a 7-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night before 11,773 at Kauffman Stadium. It also was the Angels' second consecutive loss, something they haven't done since losing to Seattle back-to-back nights on April 22-23. They missed a chance to gain a game on the first-place Mariners, who lost, and remain three games out in the American League West. The Angels jumped o…

The Dodgers' center fielder is hearing it from the hometown fans as he continues to struggle. Even though he's still hurting, he doesn't want to make any excuses. They brought out a group of Wounded Warriors from beyond the center-field fence in Dodger Stadium as everyone cheered. View the full article

I'm in the process of writing a book centered around the bizarre/rare events and least known rules and possibilities in a MLB game. some of these have never happened and some have only happened once or twice in the games history. I will post some of these from now and then. Here is the first. Try not to look it up. Instead use your intuition or what you currently know about the game. I eventually had to look all these up but thinking about the possibilities before I did that was the fun part. A batted ball hits the mound rubber and ricochets into the dugout on the third base side, what's the ruling? What if the ball ricochets back to the catcher before hitting the…

That was how far back Oakland was on June 20th 2012. And how did the finish? That's right they won the AL West Today the Angels are 9 games back (8.5 pending tonight's game) and it is only May 27th. So can you please quit giving up and saying the divisional race is over! It is far from over. However, we do have to get healthy. We need Weaver, Wilson, Vargas, Hanson, and Williams in the starting rotation. Quit giving up games every 5th day. We need Weaver and Wilson to pitch up to potential and Vargas and Williams to continue their hot pitching. We need the bullpen fully healthy. We have to offense to make the comeback so long as the pitching does it job. An…
