Let's see, pitch 5 innings of shutout baseball and give up 2 hits to the Royals, get DFA'd. Give up 12 hits and 7 ER in 4.2 IP against the Royals (and get tattooed by every other offense good or bad) get handed the ball every fifth day.

Oh, and by the way, you're being replaced by a guy who after 6 years in the big leagues still can't throw a first pitch strike.

I'm sorry, but I'll take a guy who shows some grit and intensity over a never was (can't call him a has been) or a talented head case, any day.

Maybe...but I doubt the angels would prefer to take the risk that they would owe him the rest of his contract than te contract of a proverbial AAAA pitcher making the league min.
