  1. I like the upside on this signing. If he doesn't perform well at least it didn't cost much. however based on history (not last year) he has a chance to hit .300 and steal a lot of bases. Plus he will add to an already solid outfield. I like it a lot.
  2. This was expected news. It' just a business decision by the Rangers to free up the 40 man roster. Texas still holds the rights. He can't play for anyone else besides the Rangers until this contract expires. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-rangers/rangers/2016/07/28/josh-hamiltons-knee-may-feel-great-order-play-rangers-team-will-probably-need-release
  3. I had not received an email on this for awhile so it's possible this is just coming back. A buddy of mine did the Dodger Vero Beach camp a few years ago and had the experieince of his life hanging out and playing ball and getting instruction from some Dodger greats. I still play amateur ball at 50 and even though instruction at my age is not going to make much of a difference, it would be a cool experience to learn a few tips from pro's and get to know some Angels greats. I just came back from the national amateur (MSBL) tournament held in Phoenix and had a chance to pitch in Tempe Diablo last Sunday. That was a lot of fun. Rodger Clemens faced Oil Can Boyd in this same tourney on that same field last Tuesday. See Article below. An OC based team (Team Victory) won the 50+ tourney this year. I play against a bunch of those guys in my mens Sunday league. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2015/10/20/155023572/roger-clemens-and-oil-can-boyd-pitch-in-msbl-world-series
  4. Anyone ever done this or know of others who have done this. Would be interested to hear what the experience is like. http://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/ana/fan_forum/fantasycamp.jsp?partnerId=ed-9819153-842197273
  5. lol well it's my fault. I started this post. I wasn't expecting these kinds of responses. I rarely post on here. I am just reminded of why I haven't posted on here for awhile.
  6. I believe in recognizing the efforts and fight the players put up this season. I am not going to dwell on my own disappointment of their loss. I know that is hard to understand for everyone.
  7. Anyone have details on the teams flight arrival. I want to go give them my support. They fought hard and even though they came up short, this week was one of the better baseball weeks I have enjoyed. I'm emotionally exhausted so I can't imagine how they feel. I would like to go show my support for their efforts. They could have easily tossed in the towel two weeks ago and no one would have thought less of them. Instead they provided some of the most entertaining games I have watched in person or on TV since 2002. I'm my opinion we have the beginnings of a solid core and if we can build around those guys we will be back winning championships. The character many players displayed this week is what I would like to build around. I didn't see quitters in there. Thanks Halos! PM me if you prefer not to post it. Thanks!
  8. No actually. I'm trying to sell mine on Stubhub but it seems the link for today's game does not allow anyone to buy tix. I thought maybe it was my computer not working. I will check on another computer. You should be able to buy up to 30 minutes past game time.
  9. Anyone able to purchase tickets for tonight's game? It says "Look's like it's too late for this event".
  10. Tulo has an OPS this year at Coors field of 1.775 and away OPS of .881. Yes I think the Coors effect helps him a bit.
  11. He is playing out of his shoes but he has done that before and then gets hurt. He just happened to start this year on fire and without injury so it stands out. If he was not injury prone he would have a few MVP titles by now. I love Tulo but don't think he will make it to the all-star break without a DL stint and then cool off upon his return.
  12. How did we ever make so much noise in 2002 playoff run? My theory is that the true hard core Angel Fans who would know how big an accomplishment this was stayed at home and watched on their big screens. Next generation technology will allow the fan watching at home to be heard in the stadium when it matters.
  13. They actually did show a video highlighting all his major HR milestones from #1 to #100, #200, etc all the way to last weeks #500. They did this right before the national anthem. This got minimal reaction from the crowd. Clapping but no standing ovation even at that time. I figured everyone was saving it for his first at bat. Maybe 500 HR's is not a big a deal as I think it is?
  14. I really wanted to go the game last night and welcome back Pujols and give him an ovation for the 500 HR accomplishment. So when he came up to bat in the first inning I gave him a standing ovation and I am pretty sure I was the only one in the stadium doing that. There was not much of a sustained reception or anything different at all. In fact the kid stealing 3rd in the 3rd inning had the biggest cheer of the night I am almost 100% sure lol Anyway it must just be me but I thought he should have received a better welcome and recognition for what he just accomplished even if most of it was not in an Angel uniform. ok off my soap box.........
  15. I think Trumbo will win NL MVP at some point. The key for Trumbo is to let his natural abilities overcome what he lacks mentally. I don't mean that in a mean way. I just think that when Trumbo starts going on these hitting terrors, his brains starts taking over and he starts thinking too much at the plate and then he starts thinking about hitting the crap out of the ball rather than just hitting the crap out of the ball. He has incredible hitting instincts. I think he will overcome the mental aspect and put together a full year of off the chart numbers in Arizona. He would have never done this with the Angels. I don't think that was the right environment for him to overcome the mental blocks that would put him in the extended slumps he encountered in Anaheim.
