2 out of 3 against the White Sox who are better than your record. Got 2 wins from a couple of scrub pitchers A loss against a perennial Cy Young candidate who had great stuff today. Can't hate on this weekend

6.2 IP, 2 ER You did your mom proud. Keep up the great outings. The Angels REALLY need it. But I felt Sosh went to the pen a bit early... but that's another topic. Heck, even Hawk Harrelson was impressed with the outing.

We lead the league in double plays. Yet we don't try to steal very often. I'm sorry, but that's ****ing stupid

The Angels, who traditionally are among baseball's most successful baserunning teams, entered Sunday with 25 total outs on the bases, the third-most in the league.

CHICAGO — Mike Trout was picked off first on a stolen-base attempt and thrown out at second in the third inning Saturday night. View the full article

.344/400/732 overall 1.132 OPS with 4 HRs and 9 RBIs Count in the last day of April and it gets even better. It's safe to say he's out of his little funk, and the league has still barely figured him out.

Every Mother's Day, MLB players wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness. Angels right-hander Jerome Williams does that all year, with the hot-pink glove he had specially made in Taiwan in 2010, to honor his mother, who was stricken by the disease and passed away in 2001. View the full article

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - MAY 12, 2002 GAME 36 - WHITE SOX AT ANGELS ANAHEIM – The Angels won their fifth consecutive game and moved a season-best four games over .500 (20-16) with a 5-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox before 19,251 at Edison Field. The Angels scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, sparked by David Eckstein, who was hit by a pitch with two out and nobody on base. Eckstein stole second, and after Darin Erstad was walked intentionally, Troy Glaus singled to left field to score Eckstein with the winning run. Tim Salmon led the Angels offense with two hits, including his fourth home run of the season, and three R…

I'm not really into the sabermetrics but this seems interesting. From what I read it sounds more rational than WAR. WAR counts a leadoff homer in the first inning the same as a game winning homer. WPA takes a player in every clutch situation into account. Anyway, Josh Hamilton has the worst WPA in baseball, Trout is 5th worst and Kendrick is 10th worst. The Angels have 3 of the least clutch hitters in baseball. No other team has more than 1. School me on this stat Angelswin. (This article was in the OC register but I can't link it because i'm not a paid subscriber, I read it in the newspaper.)

is not what this was: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2013_05_11_nyamlb_kcamlb_1#gid=2013_05_11_nyamlb_kcamlb_1&mode=video With his 8th homer of the year Vernon Wells scores the go ahead, and ultimately game winning run for the Yankees following Mariano Rivera's 14th save in 14 opportunities.

Hi everyone For anyone who was interested in the Mother's Day piece ESPN did on Jerome, it will be shown again at 4:20 pacific time on "Baseball Tonight" Originally me and the kiddos were filmed for the piece but they decided to stick with the story of Jerome and his mother, which I think was actually perfect for today. It was definitely a tear jerker so have your Kleenex on hand Sarah

There has been confusion and not much confirmation on when it starts. Is it in 2016 after the current one runs out following the 2015 season? Or did Arte do a buyout from the current deal to have the new one start earlier?

After close to a decade of stealing bases at a solid rate, the Halos are only 12 for 24 so far, LAST in the AL in both steals and success % (50%). On pace for just 54 steals Even Trout is just 5 for 7. His OBP is still a respectable .350, and thus that doesn't totally account for the decrease in his attempts. Extrapolate that to a .400 OBP, and he would still only be on pace for 27 SBs, just over half what he had in 2012.

They've been nice additions to the bullpen. If we can get Jepsen and Madson back soon, to go along with Richards & Frieri, we'll be looking good in the pen department.

Robert Coello was called up in place of outfielder Scott Cousins on Saturday. If he appears in a game, he'll be the 20th pitcher used by the Angels already this season. They've never used that many so early -- but they've had little choice. View the full article

Texas League Matt Long, Arkansas (.405/.452/.595, 10 G, 15-for-37, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 3 R, 4 BB, 8 K, 2 SB, 2 CS) Long earned Player of the Week honors in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League for the final week of last season, but if he was disappointed to start 2013 back in Double-A, it didn't show. The 25-year-old outfielder is hitting .405 (second on the circuit) with a league-leading 12 RBIs. Long almost single-handedly beat Frisco on Thursday, going 2-for-2 with a grand slam, five RBIs and three walks. Milb.com

So the Yankees will have a logjam in the outfield with Wells, Gardner, Granderson and Ichiro in the outfield. They also have Travis Hafner who has been really good so far this season thus far. With Bourjos out for a while should the Angels approach the Yankees for Gardner or Hafner?

Angels manager Mike Scioscia and pitching coach Mike Butcher watched video of Ryan Madson's one-inning outing on Saturday morning and felt he threw very well, mixing in good changeups and going up to 94 mph with his fastball. View the full article

Director of Scouting Ric Wilson snagged Stamets in the 6th round after Sappington and the Angels sent him straightway to Low-A ball where he held his own and demonstrated gold glove defense. Eric Stamets has two plus tools, speed and defense at shortstop. With well above-average speed, Stamet's home-to-first times is in the 4.1-second range from the right side of the plate. He stole 100 bases in three seasons at Evansville. Stamets' speed also helps him cover a lot of ground at shortstop, where he's shown soft hands and a strong arm. Offensively, Stamets is a slap hitter who makes solid contact, but he has no power and little extra base pop. Slapping at the ball will pl…
