Parameters of a deal recently approved by the city council calls for the team owner to pay for a new or renovated stadium in exchange for the right to develop the parking lot, as good an agreement as Anaheim probably will get. For the 47 years the Angels have called Anaheim home, they have played in a stadium in the middle of a parking lot. View the full article

Todd Frazier of the Reds delivers a walk-off single in the 10th inning against Brian Wilson and the Dodgers. Billy Hamilton scored from second. Puig's throw from right was up the third-base line a bit. Reds win 4-3.

You could probably even keep Scioscia because you know Mike would listen to the guy. He's smart, knows pitching as well as anyone, and it's no secret he's looking for a GM gig. And best of all, it would be another big middle finger to our friends up the freeway.

Mark Trumbo -- current slump notwithstanding -- is on his way to a second straight 30-homer, 90-RBI season and, at age 27, ranks among the top 50 in the Majors in slugging percentage since the start of 2011. View the full article

The Rangers, who trail the A's by a half-game after losing Friday's series opener at Angel Stadium, will look to keep pace in the American League West on Saturday night as Derek Holland faces the Halos' Garrett Richards. View the full article

Mark Trumbo's three-run homer caps a five-run rally, and pitcher C.J. Wilson allows four runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to get his first win against former team. Mark Trumbo's long swing makes him prone to lengthy slumps, and the Angels slugger was in a doozy before Friday, hitting .140 (seven for 50) with no homers, one run batted in, 20 strikeouts and no walks in 13 games. Mark Trumbo reached 30 home runs for the second straight season with a three-run shot in a five-run fourth inning that helped snap the Angels' seven-game losing streak against the Rangers on Friday night at Angel Stadium. View the full article

Both have shown that their bat is good enough to play in the big leagues. Conger has shown that he can be a mid .700 ops guy which is solid for an MLB catcher. Calhoun is the only player, other than Trout, with an OPS over .800, which with his OBP, I think a .780 to .800 is pretty realistic possibility over the course of the season. I would be perfectly fine going into next season with these two guys penciled in as starters. I like Calhoun, he seems to bring some intensity and excitement to the clubhouse.

Josh Hamilton's increased use as a designated hitter has allowed the Angels outfielder to try different routines during games in which he doesn't take the field, and he's discovered doing less swinging in the inside cages between at-bats has led to the best results. View the full article

I've always liked him and wanted him for the halos. Maybe his obp would be a good influence on the rest of the lineup. I know the outfield is crowded but trading bourjos and trumbo would open up a spot for him. Calhoun could back up 1B for a hopefully healthy Pujols and Shuck would be the 4th OF. I know the offense doesn't need as much help as the pitching but I think bourjos and trumbo might be able to bring in a decent SP. Oh and Boras is his agent.

Vin Scully remembers the 1950s with Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays in New York. He says Los Angeles could be in for some similar greatness.

The early 1950s was a golden era of baseball. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have another identity crisis.

After reading about Arte "I have the means to move the team elsewhere" Moreno and the lease negotiations with the city of Anaheim, it sure makes me glad I'm a Dodgers fan. It would seem the one angle Mr. Moreno has forgotten about is the fans. You know, the ones who give him 3-million-plus attendance every year, while all they've gotten from him is a lousy, overpriced team and lower beer prices 10 years ago. View the full article

I mean, a bobblehead giveaway night, or some other commemoration. I suppose 6 years is way too short for the Angels HOF..... was he arguably the best player we've had over a 6 year season? Doesnt look like Albert of Hamilton will match those great years, even if they tapered a bit towards the end Sad that he was 1 HR away from joining Bonds, Canseco, Soriano and A-Rod

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - SEPT. 6, 2002 GAME 140 - ANGELS AT ORIOLES BALTIMORE -- As the Angels got dressed following their game against the Baltimore Orioles Friday night at Camden Yards, the clubhouse television was showing another game. No, not the Oakland A's game against the Minnesota Twins. It was the college football game between BYU and Hawaii. The Angels don't seem too concerned about what the A's are doing, not when they're winning themselves. Behind the pitching of starter John Lackey and key hits from Adam Kennedy and Brad Fullmer, the Angels won their eighth consecutive game, 6-3, over the Orioles before a crowd of 24,045. It m…

And was victor Rojas nervous? He's in too good of shape to be gassed. Most of these people at the stadium (all 800 of them) don't even know who Knoop is. Shame.

My boss just gave me two tickets to tonights game, so my 6 yr old and I are going. We are trying to keep it on the cheap, so I was hoping to avoid stadium food. Usually we buy everything at the game, so I have never tried to take anything in. Anyone know what the rules are? Thanks.

He turns 38 in a couple of months. Or 44 in Dominican years. He is in the middle of yet another monster season and is showing no signs of slowing down. I know everyone thinks Ortiz is juicing, and I am skeptical too, but I have to wonder how the guy has been able to skirt the system for so long (if in fact he actually is juicing). How is that so many others have been caught, but Ortiz hasn't? Is the testing system not sophisticated enough to keep up with whatever Ortiz might be using? Maybe Ortiz is just really good. Derek Jeter was great in his age 38 season. As was Frank Thomas. Chipper Jones was great in his age 40 season. If Pujols can age as well as…

Team ERA = 4.30 Team ERA without Hanson/Blanton = 4.00, only about half a run more than #1 AL team ERA by KC. Already, we would see solid improvement for 2014 without those two. Speaking of which, did anyone ever think the Royals could win a team ERA title anytime soon?
