Trump is running for president (for real this time) http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/17/us/politics/donald-trump-runs-for-president-this-time-for-real-he-says.html I'm actually looking forward to watching the primary debates with him and the other clowns. Should make for some riveting television.

Looks like the generation of constant entertainment, participation trophies and time outs is having difficulty dealing with the outcome of the election. Those of us who have been on the planet for a while longer and weren't given recognition for merely showing up for things realize that sometimes your side wins and sometimes it doesn't. It's the way that life works. The linked article pertains to students at UNLV, but a quick Google search indicates that this kind of thing is going on all over the country. Got post-election anxiety? Paying for public retirees has never cost L.A. taxpayers more. And that's after pension reform Just think about this next quote. 20% of operating revenue is taken up just on funding pensions. Oh, and LA just approved $1.5 billion for homelessness. So that means 50% of operating revenue, in theory, you might as well just flush down the toilet, because you won't see any benefit from it. But don't worry, we also approved some $10 billion to schools. Bankruptcy is not a matter of if, but of when. And according to another article I read, you know how they are going to try to dig their own graves? They are thinking of trying to repeal prop 13 in the …

Thoughts? Agree or Disagree I never gave it much thought until recently, but it seems crazy that the local government can just say F.U. to the Federal Gov't, regardless of how you feel about the issue.

Now that I have had a couple of days to digest what happened on Tuesday night, I am trying to take stock of where I stand on what lies ahead. As with most things, there are positives and negatives. The list of things that I am apprehensive about is longer, but I am not without hope. Positives I'm not stuck with four (or eight) more years of the Clintons in the White House. While I don't see Bill's years as being as catastrophic as some people do, I didn't necessarily want to relive them. It brings a fresh perspective to national leadership that we have not had before. We have never elected a leader who did not have a history in politics. Trump has occa…

http://www.newsweek.com/myths-cost-democrats-presidential-election-521044 Here are a few tastes of what was in store for Sanders, straight out of the Republican playbook: He thinks rape is A-OK. In 1972, when he was 31, Sanders wrote a fictitious essay in which he described a woman enjoying being raped by three men. Yes, there is an explanation for it—a long, complicated one, just like the one that would make clear why the Clinton emails story was nonsense. And we all know how well that worked out. Then there’s the fact that Sanders was on unemployment until his mid-30s, and that he stole electricity from a neighbor after failing to pay his bills, and tha…

The passion on the left is clearly coming from the Warren and Sanders wing of the party. With Clinton's failure on Tuesday, do you think this will embolden that group to rise up and take over? Basically, become the Tea Party of the left?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/11/14/chief-justice-john-roberts-had-a-very-good-election-night/#comments I still think that Roberts' vote for ACA was made with either the sole or at least the vast majority of intent to keep it as an issue for this year's election. Political parties need their boogie men. If that was indeed the case then between that, the obvious filling of the empty seat, ACA still getting mauled in some manner despite the decision and quite possibly additional seats everything really did come up Milhouse for him.

There's no doubt that the Election results were a shocker last night, but before we bluntly call American citizens misogynists and racists, let's not forget the fact that well over 59 Million American people still voted for Clinton. We are still the great nation we are proud to be, and the less/uneducated rural white population does not represent modern American values those have been shaped over the past decade: The 70-year old Trump does not represent our young and diverse population. Of course, America is well in for some reality-TV drama when a reality-TV star is chosen to be president, but let's not let history repeat its course after four years.#electionresults #ele…

As expected, Trump did best among white voters without a college degree, beating Clinton by the enormous margin of 72 percent to 23 percent. Trump also won among white, non-college women 62 to 34 percent and white college-educated men, 54 to 39 percent. Among white voters, Clinton only won among women with a college degree by a 51 to 45 percent margin. Interestingly, among white voters, there is no evidence in the exit poll that income affected the likelihood that they supported Trump. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-news-exit-polls-how-donald-trump-won-the-us-presidency/ Bonus: Stunning TORS revelation.

A whooping 75% of non-whites without a college degree voted for Clinton while only 20% cast their votes for Trump. Data!
