Be advised that I-15 will be closed this weekend between Russell Road and Flamingo for reconstruction of the Tropicana overpass. Apparently the height is marginal, and some trucks have hit it passing underneath.

I can't get an appointment with my doctor until March so I'm going to the next best place for answers. My wife and I have been training for the O.C. half marathon, and last week while running I started feeling some pain in what I thought was my knees. After the run, the pain mostly went away. But the next day I went running again and felt the pain the whole time. Now I have swelling/inflammation and tenderness just below my knee and to the inside of my legs. It's worse on the right leg but both legs have the pain centered in the same exact spot. Ibuprofen makes the pain go away temporarily. It feels the worst in the morning when I get out of bed. Dr. Googl…

Went broke over the last year remodeling my house, big project was the kitchen. Like @cals mentioned in the other thread, I hunted the outlet stores for the ones with dents. Scored a Thermodor oven with a ding in the side for 3K off, and a Kitchenaid fordge with a small ding on the door for 2K off. Still had the wrap on it. The Thermador has star shaped burners so it looks cool AF (and puts the ZLine ones to shame). And the fledged has LED lighting and wood paneling inside. Boujie AF.

Biryani is a beautiful, simple South Asian rice pilaf that’s easy to make at home. It’s typically served at celebrations in India, and my Indian friends here in the United States talk about this dish with such nostalgia. You can make it with all kinds of meats (like goat or seafood!) or just vegetables. The rice is often golden with turmeric and studded with raisins and nuts. Biryani can also be a fantastic weeknight meal since it’s made all in one pot and is ready in under an hour. Today, I’m sharing my version of biryani with chicken. Continuing my theme of "I no longer produce testosterone" (like where it was my idea to stay home NYE) and piggybacking my vacuum thread. Recently my washer basically died. Spin cycle wouldn't work, and kept leaking on the ground every wash. (Thankfully it's in the garage). I was due for a new set. Bought mine used off some old man like 10 years ago... which I assume he owned for 20 years before me. Anyway, I assume the dog hair (don't get shepherds) killed my washer. So black friday I went shopping, told myself just get basic shit. None of that wahoo computer shit. So then I got duped into the most expensive set (obviously). Maytag. .... it'…

Anyone have one of these? My GF bought a real one a few months ago for our dogs, who shed like freaking maniacs (I have no idea how they aren't bald). Thing is a beast. When you forst turn it on, the lights in the house dim for a second. I just grabbed the stick version with the infrared laser on it for Christmas. (The laser makes you feel like SEAL team 6 when you're cleaning your house) Sounds gimmicky as hell... and I peobabky just fell for it. But that laser shows you what you're missing with the vacuum... pretty crazy. I used to be cool. Partied non-stop, traveled the world. This is me know. Life come out you fast…

I'm talking things that have extreme hobbyists and many regular folks have extensive knowledge about. For me, it's anything to do with military equipment or vehicles. I'd honestly rather watch all of the movies in the "Worst Movies" thread than read or learn about how the military's arsenal has evolved over time.

Been going through old comedy podcasts and bits. Came across this one and it proposes a question. How do you handle your kid(s) and the subject of Santa Claus? Do you talk to them at a given or appropriate age? Is it what I assume a lot of us went through where you just let them find out through kids at school and then as parents either confirm or deny what the kids are saying at school about Santa not being real? Do you just ignore it and try to run with Santa as long as possible knowing they will grow from kids and choose to enjoy the child/Santa moment as long as possible? Do you go full Bert Kreischer and jump through hoops and go as far as to create a hidden cam…

Watching Raiders of the Lost Ark last night, and one of the worst scenes in the movie is when Indy swims to the U-boat, jumps on top of it, and it sails a fair amount of distance without submerging, something submarines don't commonly do. maybe being in nazi occupied waters allowed for that, but it's still a bit much to believe.

I'm scheduled to report next week. Have to call in Sunday night to see if I have to physically report. Wasn't aware that jury trials were still happening so I'm curious to see how this goes.

https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/liver-king-bodybuilder-alleged-steroid-use-1234638226/amp/ NOVEMBER 30, 2022 9:39AM EST MILES KLEE Brian Johnson, who rocketed to internet fame as a fitness and masculinity influencer calling himself “Liver King,” is facing the wrath of acolytes after another bodybuilder presented what he says is evidence that Johnson has been using steroids. Since August 2021, Johnson — a boastful, heavily bearded man with a bulging physique and apparently not a single shirt to his name — has built an Instagram following of 1.7 million by showcasing what he calls the “ancestral lifestyle.” This program consists of ni…

I am now part owner of a Major League Baseball club. Happened to find out online that you can buy stock in the Atlanta Braves. You get a framed certificate and the whole thing. Since I've been a fan since the 1960s, I decided to go all in.

Happy Halloween!!!🎃💀👻 For those that don’t celebrate, Happy October 31st! As a kid I was fascinated by the “horror” genre. Reading books on early horror movies up to the current ones back in the 80s. What’s a movie that scared you growing up or one that scared you recently?
