News at Yahoo Sports: http://yhoo.it/1fdSQfq Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 16s Negotiations with Trout, Angels are fluid. At 22 years old, Mike Trout has definitely made an impact on the world of Major League Baseball over the past two seasons. It only makes sense, writes columnist Tracy Ringolsby, for the Angels to make sure they don't run the risk of seeing Trout eventually walk away in his prime. View the full article

The Angels' rotation includes three youngsters who have potential but who aren't accustomed to 200-inning major league seasons. Bullpen depth will be important. TEMPE, Ariz. — The blueprint worked in 2002, when the Angels won a World Series title with a competent but hardly overpowering rotation and a deep and dominant bullpen led by Troy Percival, Brendan Donnelly and Francisco Rodriguez. Reliever is throwing from a three-quarter slot, giving his curveball more bite and better control of the fastball.

TEMPE, Ariz. — No one in camp is comparing Kevin Jepsen to sidearm-throwing Joe Smith , but there is a noticeable difference in the delivery of the Angels reliever, who has gone from a straight over-the-top motion to a three-quarter-arm slot. View the full article

Seemed like he would hit at least 1 big home run every series against us last year. 2012-2013 vs LAA: .310 BA, 8 HRs, 20 RBIs, 14 BB, 21 H, 1.043 OPS in 79 at bats. That is unacceptable. He's a 200 strikeout hitter (or pitcher), he kills those meatballs in the inner half.

Introduction For the past two years, a word has been used to describe the Los Angeles Angels organization overall: Most scouts and other publications have described the Angels system as “thinâ€. AngelsWin.com would have to agree with that assessment, provided fans use the term correctly. For most scouts “thinâ€ means refers specifically to the number of high-impact players within the organization. For many publications, thin also refers to the number of high-draft prospects within the organization (which often may overlap with the number of high-impact prospects within the system). There is a difference between a system that is “thinâ€ and a system that is…

One of the NCAA's many silly rules prohibits its athletes from using an agent to negotiate with professional teams, but many do and it is an open secret in baseball. The agents are typically referred to as "advisors." With thousands and sometimes millions of dollars being discussed, having proper counsel is imperative. According to Baseball America's Aaron Fitt, the Phillies turned Oregon State left-hander Ben Wetzler in to the NCAA after he declined to sign as their fifth round pick in last summer's draft and returned to school for his senior season. Here's more: Fitt says the Phillies also tried to turn in sixth rounder Jason Monda, an outfielder/first baseman w…

Reliever Brian Moran is attempting to become the club's first Rule 5 Draft pick to make the big league club since Derrick Turnbow in 2000. It's already been quite a ride for the left-handed pitcher, a former seventh round pick by the Mariners in 2009. View the full article

Bats: Right Throws: Right Height: 6’0â€ 180 lbs. DOB: 2/21/95 (DSL-Angels): 6-3, 3.84 ERA, 42 BBs, 83 Ks, 62.1 IP Signed on February 29, 2012, this young Dominican pitcher has been more than just a leap year fluke. In 2013, Eduar led the DSL league with 83 Ks, or 11.98 Ks/9 IP. This is the second year in a row where he has dominated hitters, having struck out 83 batters in 53.1 as a 17 year-old in 2012. Eduar attacks hitters with a low-90s fastball that tops out at 93. He has a wicked curve with late break and a developing changeup. With these pitches, he was able to get runners to ground out 48.4% of the time last year. The two big questions with Eduar i…

Slugger hopes to regain form after suffering from foot problems in 2013. Josh Hamilton won't have an 'accountability partner.' TEMPE, Ariz. — It's far too early to determine how Albert Pujols will rebound from a subpar season that was cut short by a left-foot injury, but early returns on the slugger are encouraging. I think our season could depend on whether or not we do. We have enough to make the posteason imo. I think the offense and young arms will come through. The problem is we are very short handed in the postseason unless one of the young starters show drastic improvement. If I had to guess Richards would probably be the likeliest breakout candidate. There should be someone available near the deadline however. Im wondering what prospects we could give up.
