By David Saltzer, AngelsWin.com Senior Writer When it comes to our senses, there are those that we indulge and those that we don’t. Think about it: we will indulge our sense of taste by eating things even when we are full or chewing gum for hours just because it tastes good. We indulge our sense of touch by snuggling up with someone on the sofa while watching TV which doesn't make the show any better (but it does make it more fun to watch!). But, it’s not like we will stare at the exact same image for hours or listening to the same sound for prolonged periods.* Seeing things and hearing things mostly just provide information to our brains, which we then use for a mu…

http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/14/mike-trout-will-likely-bat-second-in-the-angels-lineup/ OK Scioscia, the entire point of batting lead off is to get on base, so its actually a good thing if they walk him dum dum. We pay pujols and hamilton to drive in runs and if he's hitting in front of pujols he's going to stay planted at first base and wont get as many steals and you're not taking advantage of his speed - making him one dimensional.

By Greg Bird, AngelsWin.com Staff Writer - To say that Josh Hamilton’s first 4 months with the Angels was a disappointment is a huge understatement. On the morning of August 8th, 2013 Josh had a slash line of .217/.271/.397. This was an unmitigated disaster. What was wrong? Nobody had a clear answer and Josh looked lost at the plate. He turned things around a couple of days later and ended 2013 with stats that were at least passable for a major leaguer, .250/.307/.432 but this wasn’t the Josh Hamilton we thought we were getting. Here we are staring at the 2014 Baseball Season and one of the big questions is which Josh Hamilton will show up? Josh says he struggl…

Bats: Right Throws: Right Height: 6’4â€ 225 lbs. DOB: 7/11/90 (Inland Empire/AZL-Angels): 0-3, 3.81 ERA, 16 BBs, 22 Ks, 26.0 IP Due to an undisclosed injury, Austin Wood lost most of 2013. That was too bad because Wood has one of the most intriguing arms in the system. Wood can truly bring the heat, sitting regularly at 95-97, and has the potential to dial it up to 98-99 when he needs to. He has a plus slider that is more of a slurve, with hard, late breaking action. He has a sinker that sits in the low 90s that he uses to generate ground balls and a developing changeup. Aside from health, Wood’s biggest two biggest challenges have been in his release point and…

Bats: Right Throws: Right Height: 6’0â€ 180 lbs. DOB: 7/17/86 (Arkansas/Salt Lake): 5-0, 2.87 ERA, 18 BBs, 69 Ks, 78.1 IP In any endeavor, there’s always a debate between substance and form. For baseball, the debate is between results on the field versus executing the mechanics of the game with perfection. Representing the substance side of the equation is Jeremy Berg. He doesn’t overpower hitters with a 90+ mph fastball. He doesn’t throw from the ideal arm angle. He’s a soft-tossing sidearm thrower who tops out in the upper 80s. Signed as a free agent (non-drafted), he has been pitching professionally with the Angels for 5 years, and has worked his way up …
