Late 90s/early 2000s was when they were around. They were pretty comical. The negative Nancys on that board made this place seem like Prozac Nation. GA sucked, Stoneman sucked, etc. I was in middle school at the time and lied about my age just so they wouldn't block me. LOL I can't remember my old moniker to save my life though...

So maybe I never was for it to begin with and maybe I'm not giving it a chance but jeez - it seems like every single close play we have the players calling for a challenge, the manager running out to hold up the game and then running back when the guy in the dugout watches the replay and realizes it's too close to call. I thought replay was supposed to end manager arguments, at least those only happened every once and awhile, now we are seeing three or four brief 'arguments' every game. We aren't talking about getting calls right, but we keep talking about strategy, how and when to use your challenges, and how to adapt to the new system. Maybe it's just the …

Nova just got pulled from the game in the 4th after getting shelled for 6 runs. He left 2 on base as well with Chris Davis coming to the plate. It's always nice to see the Yankees get rocked.

Don Baylor was getting wheeled into the operating room last Tuesday afternoon, about to undergo the five-hour surgery that would repair a broken right femur, and already the Angels' hitting coach was bargaining for a shorter recovery time. Bats: Right Throws: Right Height: 6’1â€ 160 lbs. DOB: 3/3/94 (Orem): .293/.359/.399 with 1 HR and 13 SBs When AngelsWin.com went to Orem to scout the players, there were several standouts. One of those who did was shortstop Jose Rondon. The way he played the game made it seem like he was (as one scout put it) “a man amongst boys.â€ Right now, Rondon is a 4-tool player with the potential to add the 5th tool, power, as he physically matures. Defensively, the Angels have him playing shortstop, where he shows good range. He has a strong, accurate arm, makes all the routine plays and some of the exceptional ones. Offensively, Rondon has great pitch recognition and …

Skaggs unveiled a sinking two-seam fastball, which played a huge part in his success against Houston. "That's what you have to do -- you have to keep your secret weapon in your back pocket," Skaggs said, per The Los Angeles Times. "I don't think any of the teams knew that. I don't even think the Angels knew I had one, honestly." Skaggs said he threw his two-seamer "90 percent of the time" Saturday, as he set up his curveball and changeup. "That's why you see all those 90- and 91-mph [fastballs] instead of 93 and 94," Skaggs said. "They kept swinging at it, so why not get outs early in the count and throw some two-seamers? I threw it in the bullpen and it was good. …

I believe this year will be critical for Albert Pujols. Whether he bounces back and returns to something near his level of production with St. Louis remains to be seen. Whether he can do that and also put up good numbers into his later-30's is even more unclear. Baseball Reference has a list of hitters similiar to Albert through age 33 in their careers. Here are their OPS stats at age 32/33/34 and some years beyond that. (I've deleted Manny Ramirez due to the steroids question.) Player OPS at age 32 33 34 35 37 39 age/retired ALBERT PUJOLS .859 .767 …

Because they don't want to look stupid overcharging for tickets for Friday, I am unable to lower the price on my tickets below a 50% markup. I just wanna get my money back on a game I can't go to and it looks like I am going to have to eat my tickets unless I turn to StubHub. I haven't been wanting to go back to StubHub because it so much easier to just post on the exchange but you are leaving me no choice. And once I get comfortable using SH? Well, that'll simply be where I sell my tickets and then you won't get your cut any more. I predict "dynamic pricing" will be a dynamic turd. The Angels have to artificially prop up the prices so that they don't have to …
