I think Aaron juiced too. One of his teammates (Tom House) talked about how steroids were prevalent in the 60's and 70's and house even said several members of the Braves juiced.

Not to mention he was declining each year from ages 32-35 then all of a sudden starts playing the best baseball of his career from age 36-40.

At age 32 and 33 he led the majors in home runs switching from Millwaulkie to Atlanta. At age 35 he led the league in total bases and had an OPS of 1.003.

From age 36 to 40 he played in considerably less games. He quit stealing bases and had more days off to rest. If you check out Willy Mays stats he had a resurgence late in his career along with Ted Williams who had an OPS of 1.257 at age 38. They also played in fewer games.

Was watching on tv. They had Vin Scully on the national broadcast, iirc. We ate Kraft Mac 'n cheese on TV trays in the living room so we wouldn't miss a thing, a rare treat in our house.

After Aaron hit 715, I remember fans leaving in droves well before the game ended. The place was a graveyard by the 8th inning. Always thought that was a pretty crappy display by Braves fans (or whoever they were).
