The one food dish I look forward to for Spring Training every year are the Filiberto's breakfast burritos. Those who have never had one don't know. Those who have make it a priority. There's one just across the freeway on Broadway that I always hit before making to Tempe Diablo for morning workouts. Man this year sucks. This is the first in over 15 years I'm not heading down there (as of right now). Enjoy a Filiberto's burrito for me, please.

First obit on the new site? RIP Bonnie. Nobody was looking at you on One Day at a Time because it was all about Valerie Bertinelli. But you were enjoyed. Bonnie Franklin, actress, dies http://ow.ly/2vcgLL

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-singers-of-all-time-19691231 Personally, I think their list is way off... I mean, Steven Tyler is #99 and Steve Perry is #76? They should be way higher.

As panda mating season approaches, the Edinburgh Zoo is reportedly playing smooth music to get its male panda Yang Guang in the mood to mate with its female panda Tian Tian. Because female pandas are only fertile about two days out of the year, the zoo is eager to have its bears reproduce. The radio station plays a daily song for the male panda including Marvin Gaye’s sultry tune “Let’s Get It On.” http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/extras/2013/03/01/instant-index-bus-driver-faints-in-poland-hero-steers-bus-to-safety/ makes sense...

http://abcnews.go.com/US/horse-meat-slaughterhouse-open-mexico/story?id=18628213 As concern over horse meat-tainted food grows throughout Europe, the United States may be on the cusp of authorizing and opening its first horse meat processing plant in more than five years. A horse slaughterhouse in Roswell, N.M., received word from the U.S. Department of Agriculture saying that they were moving forward with Valley Meat Co.'s application to begin horse slaughter operations, according to Rick de los Santos, a partner in the company. ..might as well embrace the trend...

Question for anyone who knows about tires. I need 2 new tires on my work vehicle (Ford Edge). When I went to the tire shop, I was told I needed to buy all 4 new because I had an AWD, and that I will F up the car if I don't. Never heard of this before.

What is your favorite walk-up music for your favorite player? What would you dance to the plate to? I think I've gotta go with Troy Glaus, "One" by Creed... My musical taste runs the gamut from rock-punk-acoustic-some rap and pop-country-electronic. From day to day it might be "Load-up the bases"-Whiskey Falls... "Centerfield"-John Fogarty... "Tesse"-Dropkick Murphys... "Back in Black"-AC/DC... "Summertime"-Kenny Chesney... "Release the dogs"-Boy Sets Fire... I even would use "Call me maybe", but don't tell the guys on my team... Here's a cool youtube vid I found about the FSU baseball team, and picking their music

Saw this on a Thrice social media site. Per OC Weekly http://blogs.ocweekly.com/heardmentality/2013/02/top_20_greatest_oc_albums.php The Vandals were solid. Thrice is a definite. And a surprise that I always forget about is Matt Costa who's album they named is really good. Dude used to play at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa all the time.

Since you're a big Michael Mann guy, does that mean Heat is one of your favorite movies? The only thing I didn't like was the ending. A sequel with Deniro and Kilmer together being chased by Pacino and his boys would have been epic.

http://www.wired.com/autopia/2013/02/3d-printed-car/ When the funding comes in, the head engineer is planning to take the latest prototype from San Francisco to New York on 10 gallons of gas, preferably pure ethanol. The hope is that the drive will draw even more interest. “We’re trying to prove without dispute that we did this drive with existing traffic,” Kor says. “We’re hoping to make it in Google [Maps'] time, and we want to have the Guinness book of world records involved.” Yeah, it's a prototype and most prototypes never see production, and I'd hate to be stuck in this tiny thing for a drive from SF to NY, but the technology is fascinating.

Anybody else watch the History of the Eagles documentary on Showtime? On the subject of money, Frey makes Gene Simmons seem laid back. Had to get that off my chest. Good night.

Steven Tyler: I've Spent $5-6 Million On DrugsAerosmith's Steven Tyler believes he has spent millions on drugs over the years. Asked by Australia's "60 Minutes" if the rumors - that he's spent $20 million on drugs -- are true, Steven shared his impression of the more accurate financial figure. "No, probably, realistically 5 or 6 [million], easy," he said. "But it doesn't matter. You could also say I've snorted half of Peru. It's what we did." Steven said he and Joe Perry, Aerosmith's guitarist, still live up to their reputation as the "toxic twins."
