It just started playing on cable, and I finally got to see it. I'm a zombie-freak, and thought it was pretty good. They added the twist of having Juan running a "zombie/revolutionary" extermination company after the outbreak. I thought there were some funny moments, and it was pretty well-done. It's no "Night of the Living Dead" (original), "Dawn of the Dead" (either), or "28 Weeks Later", but I enjoyed it. It actually felt like a Spanish version of "Last of the Living", but better.

Coming down to SoCal for a funeral next week with the family. Want to take the kids to Knott's while we're there. Anyone have a connection for cheaper tickets? Any help would be much appreciated, as well as any well-thought, witty responses that are certain to be applied as well. The poster formerly known as HaloU2

I have 2 large boxes, approx 1800 (maybe more) Angels cards in very good condition. 80's- 90's early 2000's Everyone from Jim Abbott to Dave Winfield- Tony Armas to Geoff Zahn. As early as George Hendrick, and as recent as GA-Washburn-Glaus-Salmon. All makes. Multiples (over 100) of the players like Witt, Joyner, Moore McCaskill, or Salmon. Many Salmon rookie cards, different makes. Even Saw some Jim Eppards in there, lol. I have been cleaning out storage because I am selling my boat in Dana Point. Forgot I even had these. Sort of a grab bag but sure there are some semi valuable cards in there. If anyone is interested, and can come to Dana Point to pick them up... …

Inspired by our chat in the new chat room. Some of you had really great places and recommendations. I recommend DeFranko's Submarines in Van Nuys. I think the owner is originally from Chicago, so it's sort of like a Chicago style deli. My favorite was the pepper steak. Someone else mentioned Portillo's, a Chicago style hot dog place that is starting to come into OC.

A little tardy in posting this. A varied Friday evening and night for DR. My mom pre-ordered some home made tamales from a lady who sells them from her car or where ever she happens to be. Long story. Somehow they ended up (the tamales, that is) at my place and my mom wanted some for din din tonight. So, looking for a bit of an outing, I drove the big bag of tamales to me mum's. The mexican lady who made the tamales was kind enough to put the tamales in a 99 Cent Only store bag which seemed somehow fitting. The bag tore apart. Also fitting. I came home for a bit then got a hankering for fish and chips. So, back out I went again to my local chippie, as the …

If anyone is interested in meeting up and watch some ponies. It's Santa Anita Derby time. In addition to the ponies, they will be having a beer garden with 50 craft microbrews, and food trucks. They haven't released the details on what beers or food trucks yet. Especially for the bigger named food trucks, I would suggest getting there early, so you don't have to wait in line. The last few times they have done this, the infield has been pretty busy. Gates open at 10 am. First race is at 12 noon. Admission is $5, parking $4. Let me know if you are interested. I'll be on the rail near the finish line.

Time to brag about your culinary arts. What are the best dishes you make? For me it's: Cheesecake. I don't make it often since it takes forever to prepare. Pancakes. I make them Swedish style with yeast. Easy to make but the batter needs to sit overnight. Jerky. This is my favorite. The marinade is about 10 ingredients and is salty/sweet. Making some as I type.

I'm getting Harry Reem'd by AT&T as my home internet provider. I have about the lowest speed and it costs me something like $40 per month which is (doing the math in my head) nearly $500/year. And this is for DSL. I want to get the price down without too many headaches when/if switching over. I'm not tech enough to understand everything on dslreports.com, but I would be interested to know what anyone else does to save money. Looking for minimal price with minimal hardware purchase and minimal installation headaches. Merci.

So here we are in florida on a singing tour for nine days. Trouble at the rental car window at the airport because of some agent with a crappy attitude. She neglected to tell any of us that some of our cars are equipped with a Sun Pass, florida's electronic toll road pass so you don't have to pay. A few of us had to pay $15-20 cash in tolls before finding out we could have skipped that part. Thanks to the kind toll collector who pointed this out to me I was finally able to save some cash. Budget also equipped my Chevy impala with XM radio. The radio signal for it suddenly quit. Couldn't reset it either so I called Budget to ask for their help. After being transferred/han…

A few years back, around the time Nick Adenhart was taken from us, I had an idea for a one-hour television series imagining pirates adapting to the modern world. I thought the name "Adenhart" would make a terrific pirate name, so I kept that in the back of my mind as I was slowly breaking the story. With Adenhart's passing, I named the main clan in my story after Adenhart. Unfortunately, the script didn't go anywhere which is a shame. It was a fun script to write. I was digging through some files tonight and found a draft and thought, because of the Adenhart reference, some of you might be interested in reading it. My script writing program isn't letting me co…
