Forecast high on Saturday of 124 degrees. Currently, it's 112 and tonight's low will be around 90. As my dad used to say, "It's a dry heat!"

Been looking forward to this game since the mysterious teasers came out like two years ago. The game comes out next Friday and the reviews just hit today and they've been awesome. Has an average score on 96 on Metacritic so far with over 25 perfect scores. Anyone else plan to pick it up? This and Man of Steel on the same day is a pretty good day.

Is there a movie site that can do complex searches such as how many films Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin have done together? IMDB, the one I generally use, can't do this. I think they've done at least 4 films together.

The mini-series started on CBS last night. I never read the book, but watched the first episode last night and was pleasantly surprised. It's a great concept that kind of reminded me of his "Storm of the Century" (where the town was cut-off during a blizzard). The effects have been good so far, and the typical King-style soap-opera plot is in-place. There's the mysterious stranger, the mysterious weird teen, the politician with an agenda, and possibly even the crazy local woman full of conspiracy-theories. It's raising several questions... Will their air-supply run-out? Will the town turn into "Somalia-West"? (with factions fighting over supplies), and, Is this o…

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-prep-rally/christian-school-won-t-let-12-old-girl-155144963.html Never mind that the 12 year-old girl has had success playing on the football team, and that this is in no way just a publicity stunt, and that the coach approves of having her on the team. We should just let a behind the times dolt control who plays football?

My wife got a promotion with her work. I am out of the country right now for work, and we need a moving company to move us. We got an apartment near seattle that she moves into on July 15th. Anybody have advice for moving companies. I am looking online and they all seem like scams. Horrible reviews and big time bait and switch.

Another long one, folks...thanks for letting me babble and for playing the part of laptop psychiatrist. To paint a complete picture, you’re getting a three-day Weekend Shenanigan, starting on Thursday. Mentally, Thursday was the best I’ve felt since my wife passed. I had an energy I hadn’t felt in some time. An afternoon where I turned up Blondie’s “Hanging On the Telephoneâ€ real good with the car window down…semi-gangsta lean. And it was sunny and warm so I did some air drums and sang out loud. Adam Sandler has probably used this bit in one of his recent shitty movies. After a quick trip to the gym there was nothing left to do. I was ju…

Dieter Zorn, a 53-year-old herpetologist, died Tuesday evening of a heart attack minutes after he was bitten by an Aspic viper, according to Germany's English-language newspaper The Local. Zorn was in southern France performing his "Reptile Show," which teaches people how to overcome their fears of snakes, when he was bitten several times. Link

Eating it, that is. Just something disgusting and distrustful about it. Now they have it in salads, burritos, sandwiches, and even pizza. Yeccchhh!!! What's the matter with people? There are 2 exceptions however- I do like orange chicken from good Asian restaurants like Panda Express. That stuff's pretty good. And I like chicken flavored Cup O' Noodles. I read the ingredients, and one of them is "chicken powder". I prefer my chicken powdered. But that's pretty much it.

Somewhere to the right in this picture is Mandalay Bay: It was the last hotel my wife and I stayed in together. I surprised her last year for her birthday, taking her to see the Cirque de Soleil show “O.â€ She had always wanted to see a Cirque show. Her brain tumor was really acting up and she had a seizure while playing a slot machine. She was in between chemo treatments, and threw-up on the plane to and fro Vegas. When we returned home we went straight to the emergency room because the wound on her head from her most recent surgery showed signs of infection. While going through security at the airport, the TSA dude told her to remove her hat which she …

Picked this up yesterday at Best Buy and it's a pretty solid album. In the Ozzie-led Sabbath albums, I'd probably put it just below "Sabbath, Bloody, Sabbath"/"Sabotage" but ahead of "Technical Ecstasy"/"Never Say Die". It's a shame they didn't include the 4 songs on the bonus disc with the standard issued album as they would have fit right in. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. I am seeing them at Veriizon Amphitheater (Irvine Meadows) 8/28 so it will be interesting to see which of these songs they include in the set.
