Wallenda kid and the Grand Canyon

Recommended Posts

attempting to cross it on sunday, to be carried live by the discovery channel. will you watch?

here's an animated view of where he'll be - i doubt he'll really see any of it as his concentration will obviously need to be elsewhere.

Dead or alive?

Nevermind, I looked it up.

Seems Mr. Wallenda's attempt to tightrope across 'The Grand Canyon at Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park' was a success.

A little surprised that after pulling the Angelisk name trick, he wasn't struck by lightening or something.

23 minutes to cross. 1400 feet across, 1500 feet high. The camera view from his chest (looking down at his feet) was very hard for me to watch. The points where he would squat were alo hard to watch. Big, huge brass ones on this guy.

Didn't realize what a religious guy he was, but it certainly makes a whole lot of sense for something like this. Was that pastor Joel Osteen waiting with his family? I missed the very beginning and all of the introductions that might have been made.

That was insane!  Watched it live (on the 10-second delay).  It was amazing to me that he can concentrate like that for so long!  He's carrying his 40-pound balance-bar, and at one point he had to kneel=down to try to let the sway of the wire die-out.  I would certainly be praying for help as well, if I were driven to take a walk like that...
