"Aybsy brings that certain element to the top of our order. He can really get after it out on the field. He just got under a couple of those tremendous pitches, but he's gonna get good wood on them most other times." "We need an action player at the top of the order that can do some things on the bases and give us a different look. The Cubs are not a bad team, that is why any team in baseball can beat you. (Oh, and they do Mike - quite often) We are gonna experiment with a couple of things, get some new looks goin. A couple of guys are searchin' a bit for things right now, but there startin' to get where they need to be." "Coello and Varggy were goin' along good, sometime…

The new musical opens in Boston on Friday. What crazy circus tricks will Erick entertain us with this year? The failed squeeze play in 08 was great, and the fantastic swatting at flies followed by getting hit in the nards was epic a few years ago. Excitement awaits from our epic lead off hitter.

On the eve of the 2013 Amateur Draft we caught up with Angels Director of Scouting, Ric Wilson. Ric was so kind to give us 40 minutes of his time in our AngelsWin.com chat room answering our questions about the upcoming draft and the prospects down on the farm. We're excited about a post-draft chat with Ric Wilson a week after this week's amateur draft, so be on the lookout for that scheduled chat next week. Here's the chat transcript of our time with Ric, or Wily, as he would like to be called. Chuck Richter: First question: Ric, who (or what types of player positions and from either HS or College) have you and your staff targeted in this upcoming draft and what ar…

Chuck Richter First question: Ric, who (or what types of player positions and from either HS or College) have you and your staff targeted in this upcoming draft and what are the strengths and weaknesses that you've assessed in this class? Ric Wilson Thanks to everyone for having me on. We have scouted in both the hs and college ranks scouting all positions. The strength of the draft seems to be the depth in pitching Chuck Richter Ric, do you and the Angels have plans to scout more internationally. There has been a lot of players like Darvish, Cespedes and Puig play up well in the big leagues recently. Will the Angels scout more in these other countries? Ric Wilson Y…

Some quotes from the Fat Man's real postgame comments: "Give those guys on the other side credit, they got some key hits." "There were some good at bats and some tough at bats." "We had some scoring opportunities kind of fizzle." "Offensively we did enough today to win a game."

Scoreless all day until the 14th. Chicago scores five runs in the top of the 14th, and Seattle does the same in the bottom of the inning. Kyle Seager with a 2-out grand slam to tie it. Going to the 15th now.

Just as his 50-game drug suspension drew to an end, Rays outfield prospect Josh Sale got tagged with another suspension, this one by the Rays—and indefinite in nature—for what Tampa Bay deemed “conduct detrimental to the organization.â€ This according to Rays correspondent Marc Topkin on Twitter. The 21-year-old Sale made national headlines yesterday for an ill-advised and ill-received comment posted to his Facebook page. The post read (with typos intact): “Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight. First time. Got kicked out and she got so pissed thought she was gonna cry. Your a stripper. Be thankful. Hoe.â€ The 17th pick in the 2010 draft, Sale hit .264/.391/.…

The young slugger goes solo in a Subway commercial and his aw-shucks appeal comes through. Virtuoso that he is, the kid's still a work in progress. First, he needs to find a ballclub that will pay him properly. That might be the Angels; that might not. He's an East Coast guy after all, tight with friends and family. Claims to love the West Coast ... who doesn't? As I've noted before, God must have a crush on California. Much like baseball has a crush on young Mike Trout. View the full article

After finishing up 29 consecutive games today against teams currently under .500 (only 15-13 record so far), the Halos play 21 of their next 28 games against teams over .500. This is a very tough part of the schedule coming up.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - JUNE 5, 2002 GAME 56 - RANGERS AT ANGELS ANAHEIM -- For 8 1/3 innings Wednesday night, the Angels' ``Little Ball'' approach was, well, just too little. They managed only two runs off Texas Rangers starter Ismael Valdes (seven innings) and Anthony Telford (one inning) heading into the bottom of the ninth, trailing 4-2. Then they went big, getting home runs on consecutive pitches by Brad Fullmer and Tim Salmon off Rangers closer Hideki Irabu with one out in the ninth. Problem was, the two homers only tied the game. In the top of the 10th, Herbert Perry's one-out triple off Al Levine scored Calvin Murray to give the Ran…
