@Jeff Fletcher I know you've said that they don't want to DFA pitchers without options because then they lose them as depth, but at what point will they feel comfortable doing that?
Or, and maybe this is a better question, at what point is the pitcher's performance so bad that they're comfortable DFA'ing him because they know that they can at least find someone else who performs at the same level.
Pitchers go on waivers every day, and I find it hard to believe that none of those pitchers can at least match Loup's contributions.

IN the case you outline, I think you must trade him. Cant let him go for nothing.

He's 32, in the fourth year of his deal, having barely played a full season's worth of games in three years. He's only played in 4 out of 10 games this season and is injured again.
I think it's safe to say this deal is a bust.

awesome.  put yourself in a spot where you have to send down one of your best performing relievers.  I get that it's just way too early to ditch Tepera or Loup at this point, but it just sucks.

Tepera and Loup both looked bad. Yes, it's just one game and it's a long season. Moore and Quijada haven't looked good either. Here is the difference. Loup and Tepera looked bad in 2022 and they looked bad in the spring and now, so far, the regular season (against one of the worst hitting teams in the majors). Moore and Quijada, at least, looked good last year. I'm not advocating doing something yet. They can wait 30 days and see how they look while monitoring Joyce, Webb, and Warren.
This is Tepera and Loop's last year with the team. Their combined salary is less that what Upton and Pujols were making when they were cut loose. Combined, they can account for more lost games that Pujols or Upton could.
30 days is all they can afford to give if they hope to make the playoffs. Addition by Subtraction.

Can we DFA Loup and Tepera after one game… or is it too soon? 

Team USA Had the same issues the Angels have had, can’t get the big hit when they need to and the pitching is suspect. 

Not enough choices.  Would have voted for this choice: "Well, sort of confident in an insecure way, but unsure of the uncertainty of the mild confidence I have, while retaining some hope of a positive surprise, but less hope than I would have had in previous years."

I had a feeling this was coming, even though I'm not crazy about Drury.  I'm still slightly confused as to what the overall strategy is at this point, as the Angels continue to deepen the roster, but they're now at the point of creating redundancies. With this signing, plus the Urshela deal, and the continued presence of Rengifo and Fletcher, there's not really enough ABs to go around for everyone.  I get that you want to prepare for the worst, but I'm still concerned that while the "floor has been raised," the ceiling really hasn't been.

Market it as GOAT kabobs, and link them to Trout.

I don’t know man.  Who cares.  I’ll worry about this when it’s worth thinking about.  So, I don’t know.  Let’s say in January after I’ve been able to mind fuck myself into thinking they might be good.  This is the annual ritual I do with the Angels.  I’m sticking to it. 

I'm super shocked about the trades.  Everyone knew Noah was gone, but to trade Marsh and Iggy wow.  Getting out of the Iggy contract is huge and getting back some value back as well. 

Davidson is a decent prospect….if we dumped most of Iglesias’ money, I like it….
