I love Trout to death. He's been my favorite player since day one and the reason I watch their games still... but..... This is getting ridiculous. He knows damn well the team can't succeed with him being on the IL for half a season.
It's a mild form of Rendon 2.0 except he's a fan favorite so we support him.  at this point, he should consider a change to corner outfield where he can limit the stress on his body.

Can’t expect someone to have 600+ PAs and 130-150 innings pitched every season.
There’s a reason it has never been done before.
After a 2nd TJS, he needs to seriously consider a move to RF from pitching/DH.
Best to move on from him?  Someone will still offer him $500 million, pass on that.   He won’t continue to hit like this for more than a few seasons.
Need to start balancing out the roster moving forward.

Same list as yours but I'd add Ward and Thaiss as well. Get rid of the stench of mediocrity.

AO is a top 10 Angelswin poster and always has been. He expresses what we all feel, just at 10-100x magnitude.

Because we have the worst coaching and analytics program in the league.

Extremely over Sandoval. A couple of above average pitches, but a mental midget. Time to move on from him and see if you can get anything valuable for him in the offseason.

This is crazy, that's two OG's gone in the same week. I know I don't post as much as the other OG's here, but from what I've read over the years Brandon definitely lived a busy, eventful life. So kudos to him for interacting with others and leaving an impact.

I didn’t think they would sign Vlad, I didn’t think they’d sign Bartolo, Pujols, Trout, Rendon. This guy wanted Turner last year.

Im not betting against Moreno re-signing Ohtani.

Not a good look for Perry and the organization at all...
One thing not directly mentioned is the effect limited experience is having on these guys. The Angels have been very aggressive promoting guys and I think we are seeing the effects of a poor player development process. All of this reads like the pitching staff and the catching crew trying to develop at the major league level.
Also, I say this as one of the biggest stat guys on this board, but this is not the way to use analytics. The stats are a tool, but the season is judged on executing wins and losses, not exit velos and spin rates.

Analytics aren’t bad, but they can be bad if you don’t know how to properly use them.
The Angels don’t know how to properly use them.
Some of the most successful orgs (Dodgers, Rays) rely heavily on analytics, but they also have the right personnel to interpret the data, explain it, and apply it.

The Angels have done an excellent job managing Ohtani. They have put him in a great position to be successful and their proven support system around him should go along way when it comes to ultimately making a long term decision. Comfortability is key.

Early John Lackey and Detmers are eerily similar. Lackey was plagued by the “big inning” before he made the adjustment and became the front line guy we remember. I’m hoping that Detmers can make a similar adjustment, but my fear is that we don’t have the player development apparatus to help him reach his full potential.  The talent is there…

As for the prospects we traded:
    Coleman Crow (Mets #29)
    Landon Marceaux (Mets unranked)
    Jeremiah Jackson (Mets #22)
    Edgar Quero (White Sox #3)
    Ky Bush (White Sox #9)
    Mason Albright (Rockies #22)
    Jake Madden (Rockies #23)
    Connor van Scoyoc (Rockies unranked)
This is why I don't really agree with the narrative that we somehow depleted the farm, the only trade that really made any type of dent was the Giolito/Lopez one and if we keep both players I don't think we'll mind it.  The other guys aren't even top 20 guys.

Efficient game. Keep the score down on the other side and focus on situational hitting.  The sort of game they need to string together two out of three times like in this series. But Ohtani won't be on the mound most of the time.
I mentioned on another thread that Moustakas is a pro rated team MVP candidate. Big important game changing hits. Competent enough at two positions. A team leader.
And actually happy to be here.
There should be a place for him next year. Even in a reduced role.
Tough times potentially looming in Texas. But maybe the pendulum is now swinging the other way.
