I like that he sits with the fans at Mavericks games and not in an owner's box, screams at the officials just like the working stiffs in the crowd. He is a lot more engaged than a lot of owners.

Ianneta is a great player.  The average catcher's production is wRC+ is 95.  Ianetta is is 105.  That's ten percent above the average.

As I said on Twitter, if you count Maris' cheap 315 foot HR's to RF in Old Yankee Stadium against predominantly white competition with a few African American and Latin Americans mixed in, then you have to count Bonds' chemically enhanced 450 foot shots against considerably better competition.    
 
Like it or not, Barry Bonds is the single season HR record holder.  

Cards have a lot of young arms in the farm system and a lot of rookies this year.

A few of the veterans on the team, Boogs and Scrabble, were sent to Memphis for poor performance.   Its perform or get replaced by someone who will.
 
Rosenthal is perhaps the most interesting with the 100mph fastball.    Some of these guys would probably be starters if there wasn't such an abundence of young talent.

Batting order really doesn't matter that much. In a complete optimal analysis you want your best hitter hitting 2nd and your 2nd best hitter 3rd.

Good teams are able to overcome injuries because they have the depth to do so. I thought Texas had great depth?

yeah, and he hasn't kept up the pace. he went two weeks without a single walk and his average has dropped by 30 points. i think he'll end up with a wrc+ of around 130.
