I am always 100% about the long game, at least until a team shows it's capable of doing something in any one season (they haven't this year).  So with that and mind...
First -- who is in the rotation?  Now that they have decided to bring up Detmers, I'd like to see some combination of Cobb, Ohtani, Sandoval, Barria, Detmers, and Suarez.   They have both of Bundy and Quintana around as the swing men sloppy innings long guys so, IMO..  The deadline has passed, they didn't garner any interest is seems ... so what's the point of having two of them especially when you have Guerra around who is pretty much an established swing man slop guy?  Get rid of two or all of them, and once Canning gets healthy/gets some innings in AAA, bring him up and have him server as a long man/RP or in tandem with either Barria/Suarez.   Just get him to settle on three pitches and stop with the tinkering.  As far as true relievers go...  they have Iglesias, Mayer, Cishek...   The only one under control beyond this season is Mayer.   Nobody who isn't going to stick around beyond 2021 needs to have a roster spot.
I'd like to Wantz called up, only to actually be used.  I'd like to see them use Warren.  I'd like to see them throw Quijada out there a few times.  Find out if his minor league rates are real of if he's that ugly 2.6 HR/9, 7.8 BB/9, 1.842 WHIP guy he's been at the MLB level.   Because if all he is is a hard throwing lefty with bad control and HR tendencies then I'd rather they take a look at Oliver Ortega and they figure out if he's a hard throwing righty with bad control and possible HR issues...  40 man roster spots matter! Packy Naughton is another guy who will either need to be added or exposed so, let's see him face MLB hitters a little -- he's another guy that can be put into a SP tandem.  We know CRod can get guys out of the pen, we don't know if he can go 6 innings or keep his stuff with an elevated pitch count, he also still has control command issues so -- keep him AAA until Sept.   Nathan Bates (he's 27 now), Cooper Criswell, Jhonathan Diaz, and Connor Higgins..   COME ON UP..  Let's see how you do vs MLB hitters and if you can be part of next season's AAA bullpen shuttle.
I hate to say it but record be damned.  Audition everyone for next year.  Figure out what you got, who can actually perform at the highest level and go into the offseason with a legitimate plan how to address your needs. 
So  Wantz, Warren, Quijada (to decide whether or not to punt on him), the AA pitchers.....
 

The Angels haven't been to the playoffs since 2014. I think the main reason for that is they haven't focused on increasing the pitching enough. How would making the Angels all-out sellers help the team so much more? Maybe we can keep Cobb and Iglesias in '22 and get healthy for once. If we're not healthy, it won't matter if we're selling or buying. 

As someone who also lives in Vegas, if the A's move here, I think it would work. The AAA Stadium that we have for the Aviators is awesome. Best AAA park you will ever see. I dont know if it can be expanded at all, but it is in a nice area. One tidbit that a lot of visitors dont know is that Las Vegas Strip is technically not in the city limits. Its a unincorporated part of the county called Paradise.

Bundy is pitching the game they needed so badly. Now if our offense can get some more runs to make things a little less stressful. I would rather have our bullpen with a 9 run lead rather then a 2 run lead

Depends. At home, on your own toilet, with a good book, theyre great. Home depot bathroom, with the guy next to you playing the trumpet, and you trying to be polite and not laugh, with recycled paper one ply, they suck.

This team has been way too conservative over the years. This change is refreshing and I like taking risks. 

Good to see that that good old aw.com patience is still running at full steam.

Perfect scenario for Cardinals fans. Absolutely perfect. Solo home run when trailing by 4, so they can give him a standing ovation because it doesn't have a large effect on the game, and at the same time they can pat themselves on the back for being such great fans. 

I'd venture to guess that every GM misses on a majority of players they get. 

Let's be real for a second. The tampering rule is BS. 
I applaud Harper for being vocal about wanting the best talent to come to his team. I wish more players were like that. If Harper does get his wish and convinces Trout to come to Philly in 2021 then the joke is on the Angels for not doing enough to make him stay. If this is the case then maybe Trout should have been vocal about Harper coming this way.
We can bag on Harper all we want but he's just a fired up baseball player that wants to bring major talent to HIS TEAM. He took a lower AAV for this to happen. Sorry but if MLB or even the Angels call boohoo on this then obviously they are worried about it actually happening. 

it's funny to see people complaining about 1-yr deals when in the past there were so many complaints about giving out multi-year deals. 

His legs are shot. If he were simply to try and go the other way with it using his arms he's going to hit duck farts to the shifted 1st baseman. He's losing the ability to drive the ball with his lower half. He's using his hips to open up and create torque which is why he's driving the ball into the left side of the infield. Every once in a while he will elevate it and he's strong enough to hit them out. This is what natural decline looks like and what someone would expect a 38 year old to actually play like. You may just be tainted by seeing Bonds and Papi hit more homeruns the older they got. I can promise you that was unnatural.

No manager would have won with this collection of players...no manager will win if the players don't change.

Will look forward to hearing from a Scoiscia, soon presumably.  Scoiscia’s time with the Angels should be celebrated by fans.  Unquestionably the clubs greatest manager, and a guy that will always be an Angel.  Hats off on an amazing managerial career.  I hope that he remains an active part of the Angel family in some capacity.

I agree with most people here.  I think if the Angels make the playoffs, they keep Sosh, if they falter without injuries being a factory, then we start over with a new manager. I like Sosh, but sometimes the voice and presence wears thin and new voice is needed. I have seen it in the company I work for, so all is good.

This headline seriously scared me for a second a mod should probably change it. The Nick Adenhardt situation made this type of news very gut wrenching.

I'll help eppler out with his canned response to anyone asking if Trout is available:
I am gonna choose at least 7 players from your franchise.  Any players I want.  I may choose a couple more depending on what you've got.  If you don't like it, then this conversation is over.  

Sample size.  Perez is a better defender, which says a lot because Soto himself is a good defender.  Perez just happens to be very good.  But right now, this team needs offense and Soto can hit, and is hot right now. 
 
Just play the hot hand.  It's Soto right now and in a few weeks it might be Perez, or even Bandy.
