AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Second Base in OC Register: Angels’ Anthony Rendon hoping to avoid more injuries in his ‘job’
Rendon doesn't give a F___. And you know what? HE'S GOT IT ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.
it's more important to be a "good man" than to be a good baseball player.
Any functioning man that takes his family to church and has a relationship with Christ would tell you the same thing. It's not about your vocation, but your avocation.
I love my job. I'm passionate about it and I'm good at it. But it's only a job. My faith and my family are the priority. I'm just grateful I get to do both.

He sounds like he might be on the spectrum.

AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Blarg in Angels hire Ron Washington as manager
“Presence, intellect, respect, work ethic, integrity, off-the-charts ability to lead. I mean, that guy walks in a room, it’s over. He’s got it. He’s special. I’ve been in baseball since 2000. I’ve never been around someone like this before.”
I think I will take Anthopoulos opinion over the nay sayers in this thread.

If sexual assault and cocaine were determining and qualifying factors, we wouldn't have a single politician in DC.

AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Vegas Halo Fan in Angels hire Ron Washington as manager
The Braves thought enough of him to bring him into the organization. That isn't a club who just brings in anybody. If there were valid issues, he wouldn't have been on the staff.

I feel like instead of a game, we are seeing a months worth of hitting highlights tonight.

AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Chuck in Angels sign Tyler Anderson (3 years, $39 million)
Love the signing. The Angels desperately needed an innings guy that keeps scoring down.
This is the perfect signing to pair with Ohtani, Sandoval, Detmers. They could still go after the Japanese stud and trade off guys like Suarez and others.

AngelsandDodgersFan got a reaction from SoCalSportsFan in Vin Scully passes away
As both a Dodger and Angels fan growing up in Southern California during the 80's, the summers belonged to Vin Scully announcing baseball. There was nobody better to listen to. Its sad that we as baseballs will never have any great people calling baseball games. Also mentioned earlier, we were spoiled to also have Chick Hearn and Bob Miller to announce games. If you want to expand, it was also awesome to have Madden announcing NFL games and Keith Jackson announcing Rose Bowl.

Listening to Vin was part of my summer routine as a kid. I’m glad I have those memories.
RIP Vinnie

I’d add Kings announcer Bob Miller to that group also. We had, at one time, theee of the best announcers ever to call games from the booth in Los Angeles at the same time.
All legends. All 3.

AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Blarg in What are the (legal) options for watching Angel games on TV this year?
I talked to Paul while making one of his boring commercials which always included the catch phrase, freeway close. He knows he is lying, there is no freeway close to his small building that is crammed with big screens.
This is before Google so people drove there with no idea how unaccessible it was. After driving past it a half dozen times or getting lost on Whittier Blvd, when the customers finally arrive they've been arguing the whole way and if the husband balks at all his wife rips him about how they are not driving anywhere else, shopping for a better price, so buy it now or never.
Then Paul says free delivery and setup and that contract is signed before she starts complaining she's hungry and the installer is usually waiting for them to get home because he knows every damn shortcut from La Habra to La Canada and every beach city to Malibu.
Paul was in his 60's then and always came in with a new girlfriend after his third divorce. Their skirts were higher than his profits and probably cost him half of it but he sure seemed like a happy guy. Like he was the king.

They probably should have been smarter when charging him. They went for the HR, got the golden sombrero.. (Baseball talk!!!)

AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Jason in Rittenhouse Trial
That’s the thing, there are real injustices out there (South Carolina cop incident) yet they choose any of them where the cop is white and the other guy is black. Some people are so fixated on race that it they pretty much have blinders on.

AngelsandDodgersFan got a reaction from PattyD22 in OC Register: Jack Morris apologizes for racially insensitive comment about Shohei Ohtani
I remember when he was channel 5 sportscaster. He was one of my favorite sportscasters as he injected humor and he was good on ESPN, then went off the deep end and became a blowhard.

I'm glad Shohei is far more mature than many Americans and the unhinged virtue-signaler, Keith Olbermann.

AngelsandDodgersFan reacted to Blarg in OC Register: Jack Morris apologizes for racially insensitive comment about Shohei Ohtani
Morris apologized on the spot and it wasn't a prepared speech. He seemed sincere and contrite. In a reasonable society the offender and offended party should meet and come to an agreement. We are no longer a reasonable society but a very litigious one. I feel this was mishandled by Bally Sports. I'm sure their HR lawyer disagrees.
