37-for-41 in save chances last year.  Perfect in save opportunities in August/September.
 
Four consecutive lights-out innings in a row.  Only one baserunner in all four outings combined.
 
Breathe, people.  Breathe.  Frieri ain't pretty, but have you looked around the league lately?  Nearly every closer seems to be injured, suspect, or ejected from the role already.
 
Closers throw mistake pitches.  Shit happens.  We're 6-7 not 6-14.  Pujols is mashing, Santiago's start portends great things to come... the weak link in our rotation is Weave!  
 
Color me more optimistic than most.  Tonight smarted but it's one game.  149 to go.

This is one of those choices of do you want the guy that hit well today or the guy that hit well yesterday. It is April and only 12 games in the books. No player is showing anyone what they can or will do for the entire season. Freese was chosen to be the starting 3rd baseman by trade while Stewart (like Chad Tracy and Carlos Pena) was a non roster invitee. Let's just see a few more games before the DFA police starts rounding up suspects.

He started off shitty two years ago and bounced back nicely. I'm not worried about Pujols at all. I'm worried about the entire team as a whole.

While the Angels havent played well the first two nights, I am sure happy to be watching baseball again.

Don't get comfortable with the way the floor has been open to throw tantrums or troll your agenda's (i.e, Pujols, Scioscia, Dipoto hate etc.) going forward. Things are changing around here.

I don't mind ranting and voicing strong opinions, we've always accepted that here. The shoutbox was designed for rants but was rarely used and the board was flooded with non-stop complaints and regurgitated hyperbole.

But I've heard enough from longstanding members of this forum over the past few years that they don't post in the main forum anymore due to the negativity and constant trolling on certain players/coaches/manager..

I've basically come to a point, and not just me, my Mods too, where if you don't like the new rules that will be enforced going forward you can leave. There's always Facebook, Twitter or another Angels Blog you can post on.

Less is of the negativity is more and there's others dying to post again after the negative opinion and voice goes away. I'm not talking about normal groaning and moaning when Jepsen leaves a ball up on an 0-2 count with 2 outs and runners on base, every fan will raise their voices in frustration over that. I'm talking about the daily ripping, hell vilifying on Scioscia, Pujols, Dipoto etc. win or lose. It is called trolling which is against our code of conduct that I have let slide for far too long. The result is a negative tone that has been established here that most of our members and lurkers are sick of. I know, I get the PM's and emails.

Oh and most of these people that are the detractors of the Angels or certain players/managers never show up at our events, never give to our charities or even send a thank you note for the free website and service we provide for you all.

Lastly, while it hasn't helped that the team has missed the playoffs the past four years, I never in my life have seen so much crying and negativity as I have the past two years. I've been a fan since '79 so I endured the worst of consecutive seasons, yet I still went to the games, still hoped for wins and never went on and on about the same things that some of you go off on on a regular basis.

Seriously guys, this isnt a kumbaya message or anything but damn... every player has a nasty nickname, they all suck, we blow, owner sucks, GM sucks... we're a giant sinkhole of suck according to most of you.  i cant figure out if we suck or blow or both.. if that's physically possible.
 
Its spring training, we have a team with a ton of potential coming off a bad year, shit happens ..  I've never seen anything like this... even the Astros board probably has a better attitude than we do... if there is one.. do they have fans i dont know but i digress...  can we put away the negativity until we actually see them play a couple of games.. maybe?  please?
 
 
Honestly this place has become unbearable at times.
 
Albert Pujols... HamilTON, Blowton.. ok maybe that ones deserved but still.. sheesh.

I can't explain why but I just feel really good about this team.

He's not a Super Fan. He's a FAN of the team he loves and is frustrated with other fans who bitch, moan and are not satisfied. He's happy with the team, much like a good majority of us are, but sees posts that say we don't have a chance at the playoffs, we suck, we need 2 more players to even think about contending blah blah.
You can be objective all you want if you're a local or national sports writer, but come April every team starts 0-0 and history proves that teams with a shit ton of payroll and paper championships don't win actual games from April-Sept, or through October.
Stop trying to tell me we suck or we're XYZ away from having a chance from being good or from being great. I've seen it all discussed prior to the season for over 30 years and we've always been wrong! Be excited about the team we have, whether it tickles your fantasy Angels team's balls or not.

My favorite time of the year on here (other than the first series of the year). I was glued these past 3 days.

I think he will put up those numbers and maybe even increase the HR and RBI numbers.  My glass is always half full though and expect the best.  I think Hamilton will have a bounce back year as well.

I'm cool with the trade. I'm actually excited to have Mr. Freese. Hopefully it works out. 

I support the team...so, I will be positive with the moves...the first move of a long offseason.

lol at me being a super fan. I'm as critical as the next guy of the team and its woes over the past four years. That said, I see no reason not be optimistic of where our team will be coming out of spring training with the type of owner we have, a GM who I really like and the core players we already have.
 
Call me a super fan, I see it as super excited to see our team on the field in 2014. I believe Dipoto will get this team where it needs to be this offseason, meanwhile I fail to see where the Rangers have upgraded.

I, for one, would encourage you to continue to write these ariticles ettin.  IMO, you present a balanced approach to these scenarios.  Yeah, some of them may not be realistic, but I appreciate the effort and enjoy them.
