I don't think Cole will wait. We saw what happened last offseason so I feel like if Cole sees an offer he likes then he's good. Players this offseason likely want it over and done with.
But I do agree they should throw some money this offseason.

I think that is why Trout is in a class by himself - if the opposition figures out somehow to get him out, he works on that aspect of his game.

@totdprods - So there is a given that players have to adjust, especially to the shift.  But pitchers are being chewed up at an alarming rate.  Could it be that today's pitchers are trying to pitch to the defensive shift to their own detriment?  Starters are lasting, in starts AND innings pitched around the league.
I looked up and found that 93 MLB starters had 20 or more games started.  I believe this should be about 130 or more.

Dave Chalk was an awesome player for the Angels.  I remember him more as a 3rd baseman though, although he could play all 3 infield positions.

I assume Doug White is like a manager at Walmart working 80 hours a week training new employees after 3 of them quit and 1 died. The new employees have severe learning and physical disabilities and one of them keeps going to the snack machine every 10 minutes. He's dead on the inside and wishes he was at Target.

He was injured his last season (2016).  I’m guessing insurance paid off most of his contract. Grouping him with the other bad contacts is wrong. CJ was the last descent pitcher the Angels signed. 

My take is that Eppler has improved the team given the abhorrent amount of injuries in an organization with little depth. 
If the Angel's move away from Eppler, it will mean another 3 to 5 years of building from another GM.  Might as well stay with him.  It would be nice to have a 500 record this year, but I'm less and less optimistic of that happening.

I would rather have Suarez pitching than Cahill or Harvey,  Obviously he has some things to work on and it is on the coaching staff to help him improve.  I do not think just any 21 year old can pitch in the majors so he must have some upside.

An opener is a way to help prop up pitchers who aren’t as good. 
The Angels, and every other team, would love to have five starters who were good enough that they felt they didn’t need the opener. 
Right now they don’t have enough good pitchers. That is the problem, period.

Let guys like Peters just pitch.  Start him every fifth day, it he craps the bed, move on.  If he's halfway decent - we've got a cheap starter.
