It'll be good to see Stassi behind the dish handling Canning. The kid needs a steady hand to guide him through his rookie year, not a catcher that allows any breaking ball in the dirt to reach the backstop.

At his current rate his career average will fall to .29949 or less sometime in April or May next season...

he's averaging about 70 at bats per month right now.  another 30 for August and 70 for sept gives him 100

if he gets 22 hits in those next 100 at bats, he'll drop below .300.

Will it be below .29950? They round off the average to 3 decimal places. If not it will show up as .300 on his STAT sheet.
