Why Baltimore? They seem to have too much prospect depth to take on Trout's salary. Philly wouldn't surprise me though.

There's definitely something going on here given the yearly injuries to pretty much everyone regardless of age, injury history, etc. With Arte's history of being cheap it wouldn't surprise me if we're cutting costs in that department too. 

He did what he was supposed to do. Definitely can't fault him for not trying and every transaction has looked good on the surface. But the Angels will always find a way to be the Angels.

The only prospect of any consequence that they gave up was Quero, and if they can't win with Trout and Ohtai then they definitely won't win with guys like Neto and Quero. That said, it's pretty funny to watch them be major buyers at the deadline and then immediately collapse in typical Angels fashion.

Damn this sucks. While we've never met I've always respected Lou and he's been a huge part of this community for as long as I can remember posting here. It was always an honor getting the "I agree" treatment in response to something stupid posted years ago. Prayers for him and his family.

I definitely wouldn't trade Paris or anyone with a remote hint of upside for half a season of a guy that could easily regress to being a bench player.
