austin724 got a reaction from Vegas Halo Fan in AP: Scioscia downplays rift with Dipoto
I know what will solve the problem. The Angels start winning and all of this bullshit can go away.

This place is becoming a very bad nightmare.

Dare I say that I agree with Austin. The Angels are a train wreck so journalists are finding ways to throw gas on the fire. This happened in 2012 and now it's coming out. I find the timing a bit suspect. Last year, along with this season, has been filled with frustration. I bet there were more flare ups in the clubhouse besides this one. But nobody would care if Macier tried to throw a punch at Iannetta.

It seems like these guys go to fan message boards and just find the best stuff on them and quote them as "unnamed sources" in their articles. I swear every quote you see, someone on this board has said.

austin724 reacted to Stradling in Dipoto or Scioscia gone in offseason
I think there will be a change with the field manager, but I can almost guarantee Scioscia will not be fired. He will be traded or promoted or accept a buy out. If I were Arte I would wait until after the Dodgers are eliminated before deciding which road to take. I know everyone love Mattingly right now, but if they lose in the first round he will again be on the hot seat.

Dipoto, don't let the door hit you on the way out....

austin724 reacted to Mudville in Ok Albert, if you say so........
I think Albert is taking the smart route on this. Lawyers jump on everything like message board GM's and nitpick every statement that they can use against a target. So why give them anything for a defense when it is up to them to defend Clark's statements?

yah, I don't really have a problem with anything he said.

Do you guys spend the winter criticizing the shape of snowflakes as they fall?

Yes, the GM who made this team competitive for almost a decade. The one who had the farm system in great shape. The one who brought this team a championship.
Yeah, him.

1. Try and sign Trout to a 6 year deal.
2. Hire Langston for Pitching Coach, Percival for Bullpen Coach, Erstad for Bench Coach, and Salmon for Hitting Coach.
3. Get a pen arm. Possibly a closer. Frieri, Burnett, Williams (LR), Jepsen, Kohn, Coello. The talent is there. It's just we need option 2 for them to reach their potential.
4. Get a 3/4 starting pitcher, and re-sign Vargas. Weaver, CJ, Vargas, Richards. Williams as injury replacement.
5. Cut bait on Blanton.
Although 3B is becoming more and more of a concern. It would be less of a concern if Pujols and Hamilton revert to at least a high .700/low .800 ops.

Dipoto should definitely be fired this is his team he put together. It's awful. Fire him before it gets worse

austin724 reacted to Dave Saltzer in Randal Grichuk
I still believe that Grichuk will be a successful ML player. Where and how we get him in our lineup is a big question, but he's a great guy and I believe he will succeed.

No one has left yet but we are to predict who will be more successful elsewhere? Geez this place is miserable. Wake me up when it's over.

I don't know why most people bothered to read his comments, they really don't explicitly say anything meaningful. Lots of people have their interpretation of what he said, and that just happens to coincide with their personal opinion, LOL.

austin724 reacted to Angelsjunky in That Right There
Remind yourself of two things:
1) These games don't matter for the postseason, because the Angels aren't going
2) Consider now until the end of the year as extended spring training for next year. Players like Gutierrez are getting a try out to see if they have anything that can be worked on. And players like Garret Richards are getting playing time to be more seasoned for next year.

The Braves are the only team that has a chance against them in the NL. In the AL, probably the Tigers. Hell, I'll root for Boston if it comes down to it. **** the dogs.

Rangers, easily. Ranger fans are delusional and arrogant even when the Rangers suck. Imagine how obnoxious they would be all off-season if their Angers won the championship.
