With all the pitchers that remain on the market, we gotta realize none of them are a true number 1. We needed that.

I have a theory on Eppler’s comments and Arte’s “All In” mentality:
WHAT IF, Arte and Eppler know they are getting Cole? Eppler stated we have room to add multiple players with $20+ mil a year contracts, due to the fact that Cozart is gone.
So they are now getting Cole, and are trying to Add Rendon/Donaldson and potentially Madbum/Price/Ryu etc. 
Basically, Cole gave them some type of acknowledgment that he’s ready for Anaheim. It then allowed the Angels to make that trade involving Cozart and our first round pick with confidence. 
 
They now have more flexibility PLUS Arte’s “All In” mentality to pursue the other top tier free agents. This is my hopeful Halo attitude speaking. 

This is it. That’s what the eyeballs meant. They told Fletcher something BIG was going down. 

Why does this have to be a fall back?

Arte has repeatedly said hes all in, all in doesn't mean one or the other or Cole and bust.   This has been my greatest fear for this off season, no question, and none of us know what all in means to him, but it cant mean one or the other can it?  Thats not logical.

He could do both, trade for a young catcher perhaps using some of the depth created, bring in Maldonado to mentor and develop them, build a winner now, let the books balance as some of the high priced guys fall off in the next couple years, and have it all... if hes will to overspend for a couple years.

Is that financially sound, of course not but all in doesnt usually have those kind of implied limitations.   This should be the kind of move Arte has dreamed about, a change to build the winner AND punk the Dodgers at the same time?  Itsnt that worth a measly 100 M over a couple years? 

Bumgarner would be an EXCELLENT third option behind Cole and Ohtani in our rotation. 

I really want the Angels to do the Red tops and White Pants as their regular uniforms, with the all whites as the Sunday or alternates.
Then they do the Red Tops and Gray uniforms as their road uniforms with Navy Blue tops and gray pants as their Sunday or Alternates. 

It’s fair to be a little anxious about the Angels this morning if you happen to give a damn about the team.  So let’s all keep in mind that they haven’t lost Cole yet.  They haven’t lost Strasburg.  They could still swing a trade for a good pitcher.  Let’s get all our stupid pipe dream happy thought scenarios in one place.  And never forget this :
