3.67 career ERA, 30+ starts each of the last 7 years. I was actually hoping we'd sign him for multiple years

Make it happen Eppler. Some kind of incentivized contract would certainly put our minds to ease, but at this point I'll take anything.
A rotation of Ohtani, Ryu, Heaney, Canning, Sandoval, and Bundy is competitive enough.

One of 10 reasons I always leaned toward keeping AW independent.  Partnerships are fine, but I never wanted the brand and community I built to be under someone else's rule.

No, I cannot just passively accept rolling into 2020 without adding a front line starter than anchors the staff.
There are lots of pieces of information and we don’t really know what is true.  But I hope this front office isn’t passing on opportunities because they have to hold on to Marsh or Adams or Knowles.
I am specifically listing the outfielders not named Adell.  Adell is “special” so I get it.
But the other guys are simply high quality OF prospects.  You need to be willing to trade something of high quality to get high quality in return.
And the reality is there isn’t enough room on the Angels for all these outfielders.  The worst thing that could happen is there is an outfield vacancy and no prospect ready to promote into that spot.
That is not a tragedy.  You can get an outfielder if you need one.
No you don’t want to get fleeced.  But worse than getting fleeced is being too stubborn to pay a full fair price for the high quality starter you actually need now.
I am not going to be upset if the Angels trade a Marsh or Adams or Knowles in a deal for the right pitcher.  It’s what they need to do.

We already have those pitchers whom like you stated have injury risks. That's why many are advocating not adding another expensive SP with injury risk.
Look at his innings before last year
    2015 -0
    2016- 4.2
    2017- 126.2
    2018- 82.1
And YES on Keuchel. He'd be a great fit here with his health and our infield.

Adding two starting pitchers isn’t going all in. It’s giving our team a chance. You don’t sign Rendon and Trout and not give them a fighting chance to make the playoffs. Right now our rotation is worst in the league. That’s just plain stupid. You must give them a fighting chance at least put them middle of the pack. But to just add Bundy is unacceptable. Every team needs some luck along the way to win a title. But to just hang on luck for the entire rotation is just plain bad. No ones asking for 4 aces. Just add good starting pitching.

Upton has 3 more years with us. He is only 32. Next season, he will hit his 300th home run.
Am I missing something? Is Marsh supposed to play in Salt Lake for three more years before he gets called up? Is that the plan?
Why exactly can't we trade Marsh for starting pitching, as in the Kluber deal that we just passed up?

Right now they have Ohtani, Heaney, Canning, Bundy.

Adding a guy to the front of that is mandatory, and I think they will. I think it’ll be Keuchel but I am not sure.

But after that most of the options are just more guys who are 3-5 starters (Ray, Archer, Quintana, Teheran, Miley, etc), which is pretty much what Heaney, Canning and Bundy are.
Obviously it’s better to have more, but I don’t think the overall outlook changes that much.

By the way, I also really like Sandoval. And think there may be hope for Suarez since he pitched at 21 and was tipping his pitches and apparently didn’t really mesh with Doug White.

The point is they need one pitcher, and after that I think they can be selective and go for some value or upside.

Why? We have Trout the next 12 years. Adell takes over right. Upton is in left for another 3 or 4 years. We can replace Upton then. We need a young, good SP right now. Package Marsh and get that stud SP now.

Gray pitched 6.2 innings or more 9 times last season (Ray did it twice) and averaged almost exactly 6 innings per start if you remove that one game that he didn’t start and got just one out. I hope he’s Eppler’s #1 trade target.
