Stella sucks so that's the best reason not to have him bat leadoff.
Not sure if that's analytical enough.

As a pinch hitter in mainly the 8 or 9 hole he is going to get pitched around to get to the pitcher or he will get a lot of fastballs to avoid turning the lineup over. He may also get a lot of fastballs if he's coming in to hit with runners on base. Assuming most of these at bats were 6th inning or 7th inning, he's also facing almost exclusively middle relief pitchers. These differences also combine with the mental aspect of never going 0 for 4 in one game and having to break a slump.
Those factors skew numbers for better or worse.

Briceno has played some 1B this year, put him in there instead of NoBuena. Briceno is one of the few on the roster with a .800+ OPS.

Right on schedule!

I think the electronic strike zone just makes too much sense at this point to prolong not using it. Let the umpires stick around for safe/out calls. Camera technology is good enough to allow for a senor to go off to indicate ball or strike on the field as well as potentially check swings.

My neighbor is having a gender reveal party that same day and everyone is invited.

I agree.
I’d rather have the higher pick.
Just like the nfl. Why finish 8-8 and pick 14th when you can finish 4-12/ 3-13 and have a top 5 pick.

That plane had no chance to win the joint strike fighter contest based on appearance alone. What was Boeing thinking. It might have won dog fights because the Russians would be laughing so hard they would fly into a mountain or something.

I don't trust his arm holding up.
I would rather trade for Degrom.
But I would not Trade Adell, him and canning are the the untouchables in our system.

Don't trade for any rentals, Billy. Hope Ohtani's arm is fine for 2019, although an innings limit of about 120-140 innings will still need to be in place, after going through this for TWO seasons now.

Why Fontana? They should have also DFA'd Young and replaced him with Blash while he was at it.

I have to say I'm getting more and more excited about this pick. Prior to the draft I heard some mixed reports (might not stick at SS, needs some work, power is legit, but most likely a 3B down the road). But, if that power is truly legit, and the mental makeup is there, he could surpass Maitan in a year or two. And, if he can stick at SS, that could be special.

I know everyone else already gave their takes, so I'll just briefly offer mine as they probably don't offer anything we don't already know.
Jordyn Adams - Obviously a superior athlete. The swing itself looks loose and fitted to drive pitches to all fields, but I don't see the power in it. I don't like that we loaded up on another outfielder when the systems seems full of those already, but he never focused on baseball before. Maybe the experts are right, maybe this is a great pick. He's likely to get a lot better and judging by the dunk and the football highlight videos, he has more upside than pretty much everyone in the draft.
As soon as the Angels switch sports, they'll have the best football team by far with Adams, Hunter Jr., and Marsh at wide receiver and Hermosillo at RB. We'll put Trout at TE. Need a QB.
Jeremiah Jackson - I don't know a lot about him, only briefly read his name pre-draft. But there are two things he has in that video that you can't fake, size and power.
If the experts say they did good, then I'll buy it.

can't believe we had a chance to get Gorman and passed. top 5 talent.
Adams is a nice pick. High upside athlete project in the Eppler mold. We'll see him in 5 years or so. But Gorman is Chris Davis with a hit tool that can play 3b. I really think we made a mistake here.

Guys, he's not passing up on 3 million dollars to go to college. Would you have done that when you were 18? Doubt it.
We have nothing to worry about unless this kid really wants to play in the NFL (Which would be weird considering it's a much shorter career)
