I'm not buying the Trumbo piece.  Downs, yes, because he is a FA.  In the AL, the team that needs OF and DH protection is Texas.  They are concerned about Nelson Cruz going bye-bye for 50 games.  They have inquired about K-Mo from Seattle and Pence from SF.
 
I doubt the Angels would assist Texas in their quest.

1. Hamilton was brought in to allow someone to get traded for a pitcher.  It had nothing to do with pujols and everything to do with the suckage of the previous years SPers.
 
2. Trout is not a douche

Everything went sour for Dipoto when he made the Greinke trade by having to wait on his signing as a free agent and failed. So he past on Hunter, Santana, and Haren during the interim ... not wanting to commit dollars until he he was signed.
 
Plan B of course was Hamilton & Blanton ... taking up a gigantic chuck of money to be spent on the off season.

Personally I really enjoyed watching the game twice. Watching the best players in the world play hard is incredible.
1. Trout getting a first pitch double to start the game was amazing!
2. AL pitching was dominate.
3. Jean Segura's defense was flawless.
4. Miggy didn't disappoint with a double and scoring the first run.
4.Machado's defensive play was awesome.
5. Fielder legging out a triple hilarious.
6. Cruz misplaying a fly ball was typical.
7 Mariano scoreless inning was memorable.
8. Yes I enjoyed Neil Diamond singing Sweet Caroline.
These are just a few of the moments I enjoyed.
One more thing ... Erin Andrews saying nobody wants to hear me was dead on target.

Chances are slim they make the playoffs this season but Angel baseball is alive and well and still fun to watch.

Wins and losses are not so important right now, it's the development of the individual players, or non-development.  This is a great opportunity to experiment, and try some new things with our younger guys.

Time for another eight game winning streak.

Everyone.... well, almost everyone thinks they have the recipe for a championship team.  Winning is hard.  I think the Angels have made more than a reasonable effort to put a championship caliber team on the field.  There's a lot of reasons why this team has struggled this year and I don't think we can blame performances that are so far off the norm and a rash of injuries on either Dipoto or Scioscia.  As for Arte... I'm still happy he's the owner.
