19) Napoli WAR = 1.7. Albert Pujols = .4

We should have signed Napoli this past offseason.

18) Josh Hamilton's WAR is only .1 better than Jeff Mathis.

Chatwood pitched well last night but lost to Greinke, 1-0.

That's a double vent!

Had we made zero moves since 2010, the Angels team would look something like this:

Bourjos (CF)

Segura (3B)

Trout (LF)

Morales (DH)

Napoli (1B)

Trumbo (RF)

Aybar (SS)

Kendrick (2B)

Conger ©

Weaver

Corbin

Chatwood

Skaggs

Saunders

We would also likely have a few more good players in pipeline in the minors due to not giving up several first round draft picks. All this for ~$650M fewer contract dollars.

A not insignificant number of fans (myself included) felt the Angels should have gone through a mini rebuild cycle after the 2010 season, rather than the series of Steinbrenner-esque moves that left us in our current situation.

Tank the rest of the reason for a top 5 pick

Trade Frieri for Drew Smyly

Trade Trumbo for Syndergaard & d'Arnoud

Trade Cron & Richards for Hellickson

Go into 2014 with a rotation of

Weaver

Wilson

Hellickson

Smyly

Syndergaard

Just kidding. I'm delusional

Totally agree (although Napoli would have required a FA signing). I strongly advocated for a mini-rebuild after 2010. This organization would have been much better off doing that.

Instead we are stuck with farm system and terrible contracts which makes one wonder if this team will make the playoffs before Trout reaches FA.

If only Arte could take the Delorean back to 2007 and known not to promote Reagins, known not to give a manager a 10 year deal, known not to sign aging players to big contracts, and known not to trade most of his pitching prospects away.

Then this cluster frack could have all been avoided.

The Dodgers beat us to a .500 record  WTF!

DBacks have been playing over their heads (IMO). Dodgers will win the NL west with a win total that wouldn't even come close to securing an NL Wild Card berth. Under this format getting to the playoffs is all about being in a weak division.
