That said, theres some sretching going on here. Hates gays? No, he expressed his opinion (which unfortunately is still more common than people like to think). Bashed arte? The angels did in fact shut him out and sign hamilton to far more money than he was asking. Say what you want, but hunter was one of the better contracts we had ever signed (current era), was a good teamate, and a fan favorite. If your girlfriend said she needed space and jumped into a new relationship, im sure youd have an opinion too.
The 'imposters' thing got blown way the hell out of proportion. He made a solid point, and used one wrong word and people went apeshit. He said mlb doesnt have many black players (true) and said the casual fan sees dominican players and assume theyre black based on appearance but theyre not. Personally, i dont care if mlb has a 1000 black players or zero, i just want to see the best players compete. But he was asked a specific question and he answered it (and regardless, someones always gonna get butthurt when race is discussed).

Sosh has a second home in Newport Beach, but the majority of the time, he still makes the drive to Simi Valley. In an interview, Sosh said he likes the long drive, it gives him time to think about the game/team.

In that regard, then, a team would essentially be dropping $60-80MM to add Moncada to its farm system, based on the range Passan received in his poll of execs.

That would be nice but I don't see it happening. I'm sure you were mostly joking, but I doubt they would be interested in one year of Kendrick for about ten million. They would want prospects they can control for 6 years or close to 6 years.

I don't consider Rasmus as SP depth. And Ramos is debatable as he has made just 10 MLB starts in his entire career (and he has been pretty bad as a starter). Richards could very well miss the first 1-2 months of the season, and how effective will he be when he comes back?
 
 
 
1. Weaver is another year older and last year was his worst full season since 2009 before his breakout year in 2010. He is basically a good number 3 pitcher at this point.
 
2. Tyler Skaggs is missing the entire season so he is a moot point now.
 
3. Richards is still a question mark because of his health. Even when he returns, you are assuming he will pick up exactly where he left off.
 
4. There are still question marks about Santiago remaining in the rotation. Except now he pretty much HAS to be in the rotation.
 
5. CJ Wilson was a "sure thing" last year. This year he is anything but.
 
I think you are way too overconfident in what we have. If CJ Wilson sucks and Richards can't get healthy we could have serious problems. All because "they have the depth they need now".

I think the only pieces they might want would be Cron or Calhoun (most likely the latter). Not sure I would give up Cron for a year of Kennedy, and I don't think Calhoun would be enough to land Cashner.

If they are willing to blow past the luxury tax, I'd rather they go after Lester. Don't have to forfeit a 1st round pick. Scherzer's mechanics scare me going forward as well. The talk when he was a prospect was that with his delivery he wouldn't last as a starter and would eventually have to move to the pen, and he's dealt with general shoulder soreness/tightness at times over his career

Defensively, he'll make Freese look like a GG 3B. Also, he's become injury prone and he's not as good offensively as he was a few years ago.

Boy I hope not. They went after Grienke, failed and ended up with a counterfeit Hamilton. This would just end up with a fat Panda.

sandoval has had great success in the post season, no doubt. his regular season numbers are ok, but he's going to get paid because of 3 world championships. he's also a fat ass, and it's extremely likely he's not going to be able to stick at third because of his fat assness. that's a deal breaker for me. the angels have enough guys that they're paying for their contributions to another organization's championships, we don't need anymore. start paying guys for what they're going to do and not what they've already done. FA should be a predictive proposition and not an opportunity to stick it in the prom queen.

Not questioning Fletcher's response but he does have to be politically correct when answering a personality question about about a player. I'm pretty sure that Fletch is not going to ask each individual player if they like Josh Hamilton. I wouldn't expect that out of Fletcher and I would lose respect for him if he did that. I'm not really sure if Josh is liked by all of his team mates but that's not really the issue. He needs to perform on the field and make it right with the fans he dissed.
