Messages are dumb they need to burn it down and start over

Not a fire sale but Ohtani, Renfroe, Moore, Devenski, Escobar, Moose, Loup, Anderson. Many good young players to build from, Neto, O'Hoppe, Moniak, Adell, Detmers, Canning, Joyce, Bachman, Thaiss.

They should trade him regardless but man I hope this leads those Dumbfucks to the correct decision

Let the rebuild begin. We have lots of holes to fill. Get some top prospects to start the process. Trout and Ohtani are not enough to get us to the promised land. We're losing Ohtani anyway.

I would trade him just because we need to restock the team honestly. I love Ohtani and he's been a pleasure to watch the last six seasons, but I don't want to sign a $500M player where we're one injury away from losing both an ace and MOTO bat. That has the capacity to be a franchise crushing contract, even more so than the usual big budget FA.
If this truly is the start of a Trout decline, and Ohtani walks for nothing, this team is going nowhere without some expert maneuvering from Minasian. Our lineup would be a mishmash of something like - Neto/Trout/Ward/Moniak/Adell/O'Hoppe/Drury/Walsh and sometimes Rendon. This on top of still having a bottom five farm system is going to be very rough, and keep us in perpetual mediocrity.

I think re-signing him at the variables discussed - 10/500 would a.) almost certainly prove to be an awful investment production per dollar and b.) would pretty much destroy any flexibility the team has moving forward.
I only don't trade him if I feel the team has a 20+% chance at making the ALCS. They likely have a lower chance than that of actually making the postseason
He also presents an opportunity to establish a level of organizational depth through trade that they haven't had in many years

I like how they have drafted, I've also liked the value Minasian has been able to obtain via trade -- neither option stands a chance of replacing Ohtani, IMO.
Mostly I'm annoyed that the Angels have put themselves in this situation due to a near decade of not being able to see the forest for the trees.

I too wonder if putting so much into one guy won't be a mistake. In some ways having him limits the things the team can do at DH -- he's great and all that but for how long, and as long as he's around the issue persists.
The flip side obviously -- they aren't likely to get anything remotely as good as he is as either a pitcher or hitter in return, much less both.
Anyway, if Im being honest, I can't say I'm 100% certain there is any right move other than try to win while he's here. It's a weird spot to be in.

He needs a steady diet of high/inside fastballs in the batting cage if they expect his days off to help.

Adam reacted to Inside Pitch in Anthony Rendon: The Resurgence
Whoever posted that should have been paying closer attention -- he's been posting a near career high exit velocity all season, his launch angle had been near a career low -- now it's back to his career average, EXACTLY his career average.
Entering today's game his average exit velocity was sitting at 91.0 -- the best it's been since 2016.
Dude is posting elite performances in five offensive categories and the low barrel numbers are indicative of how he kept topping balls early on.
Last 14 games he's gone .294/.429/.392
Last 10 games he's gone .371/.522/.486
He's one of the last people on the team fans need to be worrying about.
