I’ve still never had anyone explain to me why a guy with no history of dirty play would chose a collision that may injure himself instead of scoring what is likely the winning run of the game. 
Also, why would Justin Upton choose to jump five feet away from where the ball landed on the warning track instead of just catching the ball?

I must admit they do not seem to be handling thier first real adversity in a few years very well, if you can even call it that.  5-5 in the last 10 still 4.5 upo on the division and they are acting like  they just lost 10 in a row.  Maybe have a drink and relax a little over stressing out.  It isnt like they still dont have one of the best rosters in the game.
   
The thing that scares me about this the most, is that THEY will be the ones to go get pitching after getting slapped in 2 non starter games.  Thier top pitching prospect just got a small downgrade so they might be willing to send him out to get a Stroman or someone else out there.  I hope we beat Cole tonight, but im a tad nervous what it might trigger if the division does in fact get tighter.

Houston is acting like they know they are losing their strangle hold on the AL West.  Adversity does strange things to teams.....I don't recall the Angels being that chirpy when Lucroy was pummeled.  I just hope that the Angels can sustain their level of play.....it would be amazing for them to beat Cole.  That would send even a better message.

Only if Cole is secretly a woman.....men tend not to act that way.  Cole might also be thinking 'Yep, I would have done the same thing."

Thanks for addressing this inane idea of trading Upton.

Bear in mind the Angels have 13 games between now and the deadline against the Mariners, Tigers and Orioles. And the Astros have no starter for the first two of this series. 
All of which is a way of saying I don’t think they’ll be in a position to give up between now and July 31, and that’s the only circumstance in which they’d trade Calhoun. 
Also, Calhoun is a pretty important piece of that clubhouse. I think you’d have to be really really really sure that you’re out of it and you’re getting a major piece back in order to be worth the clubhouse impact of trading him, under the current atmosphere.

Eppler will lose a bit of GM credibility with every Harvey start after tonight. He should have been DFA'd after his IL time.
I understand the Angels need starters, but not a starter like Harvey.

I don’t want to ever in any way trivialize Tyler’s passing.   I’m sure that every one of us on here wishes the clock could be turned back to the June 30 game here, and Tyler remained alive going forward.
I do wonder though if the players and coaches are so focused now to continue this for him, that something crazy good could happen.   Maybe or maybe not this year, but ultimately
