Jeff M reacted to Vegas Halo Fan in Scioscia and Ebel had dinner with Hamilton last night...
It gets a little old when every conversation regarding Mike Scioscia degenerates into something about weight and eating.

Jeff M reacted to tdawg87 in Josh Hamilton has filed for divorce
I don't wish this on anybody. I hope Josh is in a solid frame of mind.

Jeff M reacted to Thomas in Orange County Register: Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura's anger only puzzles Angels' Mike Trout
CJ sounded more PMA guru than Trout basher. "Just let it go man... Don't let the negative get absorbed into your mana dude"
And Perez picking up Ventura as a parent would pick up a cranky three year old is the highlight of the year so far.

Jeff M reacted to Torridd in Orange County Register: Angels' teammates, not fans, come first for Hamilton
I may get burned for this, but I agree with him. The fans don't know what he had to do just to get on the field. They're frustrated over everything and he's the poster boy for failure.
If his teammates understand him, then how can I judge him?

Jeff M reacted to FabulousFabregas in My video of fans celebrating AL West Championship at The Big A!
Video I took of fans reacting do the division championship win tonight. Awesome night! My stepdad Gary is in my thoughts, he passed away last year and I know he would have LOVED the 2014 team, I know somewhere he is smiling!
Hilarious chants from fans for the grounds crew, Alex Curry, and other random stuff. It was the true fans who were still there at the end, one of my favorite nights ever as an Angels fan!

Jeff M got a reaction from Lou in Why is ESPN so Obsessed with the Choakland A's?
Same reason I've been browsing the A's forum more than this one.

They aren't covering the Orioles or the Nationals either. Take is as a compliment. There is nothing dramatically compelling to non-Angel fans about us crushing weak teams. Oakland having a historic collapse after trading away their clean up hitter on the other hand, that's interesting. Did I mention that Brad Pitt starred in a popular movie about how savvy that team is?
Of course they are talking about the A's. We'll get our spotlight as soon as we make ourselves interesting to people in Florida and Delaware.

I expected to see another Tadeus video. Disappointed.

Jeff M reacted to Angelsjunky in Do we have the deepest lineup in MLB?
The Angels have only one true star, but then a bunch of players who are having good to very good seasons. To put that into fWAR, they have one player at 6.9 and five players ranging from 2.9 to 3.6. And that doesn't include Freese, Cowgill, Hamilton and Cron - all of whom have contributed to varying degrees and in various ways. And then you have solid bench players in Cowgill, Conger, Green, Navarro, and Beckham.
So yeah, a deep lineup and bench. Deep bullpen too, but paper-thin rotation. But Weaver, Santiago and Shoemaker are all performing like solid #3 types, which with the other aspects of the team so strong might be enough to pull this off.

Cowgill is better than the current Josh Hamilton, sadly.

Callaspo coming home and finding no dinner on the table?

Jeff M reacted to HaloMagic in Cowgill is 15th in the AL in WAR and 90% of the guys ahead of him have 200+ more ABs
Remember when we didn't like WAR because of it being new and players like GA never rating very high? But then we liked it because we signed Vlad and his WAR with Montreal was so high. But then his WAR slipped with us a little so the stat kinda sucked again. But then Trout came along and so the number was super cool again. But then Trout's defense slipped and Donaldson had a high WAR so the number wasn't so good anymore. But now Cowgill is 15th in the league (aka 53rd) and now the number matters.
It's getting really hard to keep track.

Jeff M reacted to mulwin444 in Interesting tidbit here on final month of the season (Credit to Inside Pitch)
They are going to have to fatten up on their next 13 games against HOU, CLE, TEX, MIN to make the last stretch of games less dramatic. If they can go 10-3 or 9-4 during that time it would gie them 92-93 wins meaning a commanding lead before the final 7 against SEA and 3 against OAK.

Jeff M reacted to Halos of Anaheim in Interesting tidbit here on final month of the season (Credit to Inside Pitch)
''The Angels worst performance in ANY month this season was their 14-12 April. They have 26 games left -- if they do no better than 14-12 they win 97 games.. For the A's to tie them they would have to 19-7, a .730 winning percentage. Their best performance in ANY month all year came in April when they went 18-9.... a .667 winning percentage.''
Cliffs: We'd have to have our worst monthly record of the season in September, and Oakland would have to have their best monthly record of the season in September -- to only just tie. Odds of that happening are very slim.

Jeff M reacted to EDinTUSTIN in Melvin: "They should be embarrassed."
I am ecstatic that our team swept the A's. It is very satisfying to be up by 5 games. The Angels can't get complacent, however. The A's are a very good team, and can't be taken lightly. As to Kazmir, to be fair, that was not good or consistent umpiring today behind the plate. I am glad that our team capitalized on the situation, but Jerry Davis did a terrible job behind the plate today. Sosh would have had a similar reaction - considering that he is known to bark at plate umpires quite often.
