I think both Adell and Marsh may be near major league ready.  By June or July, we may have an interesting outfield problem.

The only pitcher on that list that I would trade Adell for is Buehler.
And I think the Dodgers would turn that down.

This is an interesting argument.  The pitching will improve because of the additions of Bundy and Teheran, and a bounce back season from Middleton.
The offense will improve because of the addition of Rendon and bounce backs from Simmons and Upton.
Sure, I would like to have an ace, but I hope we don't take on Price, unless we get a steep discount, like about 60 million of the 96 million owed.

I think we're close to Hubs' projection.  Bundy and Teheran alone should improve the starting rotation by 6 wins, mostly because they will pitch behind great infield defense.
Trout playing a full season instead of missing a month should easily pick up more than 1 win.
If we add another starter, either via FA or trade, and a catcher, we are plus 3.  (averaging 1.5 each.)
Bouncebacks from 1 of Simmons or Upton, and we'd be in the 90's, win wise.  Just one, not both.

Alex Wood pitched ok in Cincinnati last year.  In our park, with our infield and outfield defense, he could be a nice addition.

AngelStew43 got a reaction from Game 6 in What would a trade package for Wilson Contreras be?
First, why does anyone keep Albert out of the lineup?  For as long as he is on the roster, he is going to play.
Contreras would be a nice get.  Marsh would be part of the package, the Cubs would ask for Sandoval, I hope we'd counter with Barria and Suarez.
Rengifo is blocked now, so he could be included.  Don't want Chatwood back unless the Cubs buy some of it down.  Quintana would be a nice add.

AngelStew43 got a reaction from Lou in Did we really have to trade Will Wilson to get Rendon ?
Agree with Fletcher.  This was a pure baseball move, nothing more.
We dealt from an area of strength, our depth in the middle infield.
In return, we got a decent AA pitcher, and found a taker on Cozart,
who, as it turns out, at best would have been our 26th man.  You don't pay 13 million dollars to your 26th man.

The Red Sox would have to take nearly all of the 96 million dollars owed to Price back in trade to get one of Marsh, Adams or Knowles.
Then, Eppler would have to think he's worth that risk.  I am not inside his head, but I don't think he does.
If the Sox pay 60 million of the salary, they may get an Adams back in return, and maybe one other prospect in the 20-30 range.
The innings on his arm and the injury history don't make him worth much more than that.

If we are to offer either Jordyn Adams or Brandon Marsh, I hope we are trying for Syndergaard.  The Mets did just add two starters, maybe Syndergaard is available in the right deal.

Keuchel wouldn't be my first choice, but as long as he's good for 200 innings and an ERA of about 4.5, I would be ok with it.

AngelStew43 got a reaction from ettin in Reminder: Jim Bowden is still an idiot
Bowden just doesn't understand that the players want to play where they are most comfortable.  Could it be that Rendon and his family were much more comfortable with the Morenos than with the Dodgers and their negotiating team?

I think we could end up with Darvish and Contreras.  We can absorb all of Darvish contract, and the cost in prospects shouldn't be prohibitive.

Keuchel, MadBum and Rendon.  MadBum will prove he still has front of the rotation stuff.  Improve the offense with Rendon on 3B, Fletcher to 2B, LaStella is our utility player.  Trade a couple of good prospects not named Marsh or Adell to Chicago for Contreras.

We don't need OF's.  Why is Castellanos even in this conversation?
We have Marsh and Adell.  Just a reminder, Marsh outperformed Adell in the AFL just one month ago.

Sure, we need pitching, but both of those guys are throwing like TJS is in their immediate future.  Pass.  Like someone said earlier, why help the Red Sox out of a hole of their own making?

Said this before, but Austin Barnes is blocked by both Smith and Ruiz in the Dodgers system.  He could time share with any number of catchers that we'd bring in, or he could platoon with either one of our in house options, and the cost to obtain him would be very reasonable.

AngelStew43 got a reaction from angelsnationtalk in How about Simba & Suarez for Anthony DeSclafani?
I agree with this.  We have Fletcher, Rengifo, and LaStella, all of whom can play SS.  Also, a trade like this clears more dollars to be spent on the starting pitching, or the catching spot, which was another eyesore, again.
If we could clear enough dollars to add Cole and MadBum, I would be VERY happy.
