Have to wait and see how strong Skaggs comes back....but if Perez is a Benji type for 7/8 years (pump the brakes after one game but he has been very good since winter ball, not just last night) and Tropeano settles in is a middle to back end of the rotation guy, that would be a steal of a deal....

His defensive showing in one game likely earned him a spot in MS's mental rolodex.  People can talk offense all they want, Scioscia has always been a defense first guy at catcher.  
 
Also Props to Dipoto for making the move sooner rather than later.   This Conger trade may end up looking better than the Trumbo trade before it's all said and done.

I guess I could argue the last two offseasons are an indication he's possibly learned from his mistakes.   You want to wallow in the bad -- go for it.  I stand by my comments.  He's goofed and he's paid for it.  I don't question his desire to win, I've always questioned his willingness to let his baseball people run the show.  He's made mistakes, he's also seen the team's value, revenue, and profile, skyrocket... being successful doesn't mean being perfect.  
 
As a whole the good has vastly outweighed the bad, if you're expecting perfection then it's likely you see it differently.

Say what?  MLB didn't make the decision not to suspend Hamilton, an Arbitrator did....MLB and Manfred made it very clear that they thought the decision was a bad one... The Abitrator broke a tie between MLB and the Union....Manfred was ready to suspend Hamilton if the Arbitrator had ruled in favor of MLB.

I always thought he and Josh Hamilton favored each other. To think we got more out of Farrell this year than we'll probably get out of Hamilton.

I'm not ignoring what these guys do this spring but I've always thought it was likely that 1) Featherston makes the team because they want to keep him...and 2) Rutledge wins the 2b job because they gave up a good young arm for him and there has always been some hesitation about Green...
We'll see....

Admitting to something you know you will be caught doing is not the basis for any leniency. It all sounds noble and responsible except for the fact all it was is not denying breaking his contract with MLB to not relapse. Essentially a public relations move after the fact.
Hopefully the decision is based on the rules and guidelines rather than trying to make a feel good story out of this for Hamilton.

I rate the chances of Hamilton (or anybody else for that matter) retiring and walking away from 90 million dollars right up there with peace breaking out in the Middle East....
