The Bachman pick was stupid from day 1. His ceiling was clearly a closer, with the most likely optimistic outcome an 8th inning guy. Not someone you should draft in the 1st.

Plus Neto is hitting too.

Yeah, I imagine getting him back within two months would be a borderline miracle, given how he typically heals (that's not a shot at him--just the reality of his last few injuries).  Three months might even be pushing it.

Remember when Erstad came up and, with 4 OF’ers, they knew somebody would have to move to 1b. It ended up being Erstad and, if I recall (my memory is frequently foggy), Edmonds made it clear he wasn’t moving to 1b.

Adell actually has been one guy who's improved pretty significantly, IMO. 

I get your point, agree even.. but they made tanking less attractive than in the past.  Draft cap limits, draft order lottery, and international signing caps -- we won't see an Astros/Orioles type rebuild/turnaround again unless some team gets really lucky. 
I think the Angels have made a choice to rebuild, they just didn't come out and say it. They repeated the same exact BS they always do only this year they seemed to value those picks more than at any point in recent history.
My beef is their not having locked in better safety nets than "nobody" in the IF and Aaron Hicks in the OF.

Lot of BP pieces could be in mix plus Drury and maybe Sano or Ward.

The big trade chip at the deadline, if he keeps it up and we aren't close in the Wild Card, would be Anderson.  So far, he has tracked his 2022 season, which was outstanding.  He would be worth a good prospect if he keeps it up.  Maybe not a Top 10 premium prospect, but a very good prospect.  The question is will Arte sign off on trading anybody if we're still anywhere close in the Wild Card hunt.  We'll see. 

I also am enjoying watching some young players.  But I am also simultaneously more impatient with losing than ever.
So it is enjoyable to have some interesting players to follow and yet more tortuous than ever at the same time because I just hate the losing.

People talk about his tools all the time and much like his tools Adell's self confidence is on another level.  It's not an arrogance thing, he simply truly believes in himself to the point where his biggest obstacle has been learning what he can't physically overcome.  He's finally at the point where he's figured some things out and and not trying to do too much with the bat, now he needs to figure out the base stealing... Experience is the best teacher, they need to play him especially when he's on a contact making roll because he is prone to slumps where he can't hit water falling out of a boat.

Dude finally looks like his head is slowing the game down to where his talent can take over.  Its almost criminal that Hicks has been playing over him.

No one is crying. The fact is Jo Adell has no MiLB options left. They can’t send him to SLC. This is the year the Angels need to fish or cut bait with him. So it makes no sense to play Hicks ahead of Adell, since Hicks is not part of the team’s future plans. Now is when we have to find out if Adell has what it takes to be an everyday player.

Putting all the drama aside, what seems clear is he is an aging guy who can’t stay healthy. That is rather obvious. It happens to over 30 types. 

Nah, I think he's just not good defensively.  He seems like a headcase.
