Halokingfish reacted to jordan in BREAKING: Trout and Angels on verge of agreeing to 12 yr contract for $430m!!!
YEA!!! What a steal!

Halokingfish got a reaction from stormngt in I've been resisting it, but...we're gonna lose Trout
375/10 years seems like a fair offer. It takes him through his age 38 season. Maybe structure the deal so that Trout gets paid under in 2021 so the last year of Pujols and 1st year of Trout’s megadeal won’t kill the payroll. Also Simmons should be contacted about an extension. If Mookie Betts ever becomes a free agent I hope we consider him because an OF of Adell Trout and Betts would be amazing.
If Trout refuses our best offer we have to trade him, and also trade everyone outside of Simmons, Ohtani and Pujols(maybe keep Skaggs or Heaney)to start with a clean slate and add prospects to the future team

Halokingfish got a reaction from Roy Hobbs in Ottavino 3/27 to Yankees
A guy I have been keeping an eye on is Greg Holland. Had a bad start to last season with St. Louis but rebounded rather nicely when Washington signed him. I don’t think he will cost that much and I think he makes sense on a one year deal. The pen is young and struggled to close games last year and a veteran presence who can close should help as a stop gap until one of the young arms establishes themselves as a long term closer. If Holland works out and by July the team is going nowhere he is another trade chip.

Halokingfish got a reaction from Chuck in Rest In Peace Paul (Pablo) Smith
Hey @krAbs I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. I haven’t been on AW in awhile and I just saw this post today. My condolences to you and your family. Although I don’t know your father personally, reading the anecdotes of users that knew him gave me the sense that he was a good guy. May he Rest In Peace. It hit home for me, because my family went through something similar a few years ago. Take care and God Bless.

I know a number of longer term users on this board knew my dad (who went by Pablo on here). This morning, he was going for his daily bike ride, and he was hit by a car at Seal Beach and PCH. My understanding is that he died on site, and there was no pain. Due to the nature of the incident, they are doing a full autopsy, so I won't know the details until a couple weeks from now.
I just wanted to thank everyone here. The Angels were always a thing we bonded over, and he introduced me to this place a few years ago. This has been the starting point of countless conversations between us over the years.

Halokingfish got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Angels sign C Jonathan Lucroy to 1yr/$3.35M deal
For a few million bucks if he can help out young pitching the Angels could call up this year, I’ll take it.

Halokingfish got a reaction from tomsred in Trade for Realmuto or sign Grandal
Also Grandal might want a somewhat big contract in terms of length and cost is a draft pick. I don’t know if I view him as a longer term solution. Realmuto or Perez may be the best long term pieces but they may cost too much in prospects. Why not just trade for Alex Avila who is only making 4.25 mil in his final year and has a higher career obp, caught stealing percentage and fielding percentage than Grandal and address catcher again next offseason?

They are joking... You'll have a hard time finding an Angels message board that's as deep into sabermetrics as this one. And as @Blargmentions, it's worth sticking around for the laughs, particularly if you can laugh at yourself.
