Lmao Iglesias gets more games for throwing seeds on the field than Astros players for cheating for several years. MLB's a joke.

Velazquez is not a major league player. Well he shouldn't be...

This lineup is almost as bad as me laying in bed for the 3rd day with Covid.
It’s like being hung over after hiking a mountain. Good times.
It's probably the best lineup we've had in a few weeks tbh...

I just posted in the bullpen thread asking the opposite.
Is it really? I mean I don't agree with him most of the time but why aren't the players performing?
I could be totally off base but these guys they've spent millions on just aren't performing. Tepera and Loup are supposed to be Joe's rocks. His late inning high leverage guys. He went into the season thinking this and now he's tasked with reallocating everyone's pen roles? I just don't think he's gonna do that. And I've said all along that I think Tepera is just another guy and Loup had the great year but before that he was just ok.
I guess I was hopeful that they signed these guys because they figured something out. But in reality, it's just more of the same and expected reliever volatility.
I've been wondering if Tepera's struggles are related to the crackdown on sticky substances. It could explain the lack of control and spin on his slider

Ward completely changes this lineup. He's so key for this team.

I bet Ward can throw harder than Lagares sitting down in the outfield after missing a game-saving catch...

The way he described the strength tests, they are done when he raises his arm with his elbow at a right angle (like when you're taking an oath) and then he pushes backward. They measure the force he can exert, relative to the baseline measurement they took in spring training.
Also, I was off yesterday, but I made note of the fact that Frostad told the reporters there that Ward was at 65-70 percent of his baseline strength on Friday. On Thursday it was 60 percent. On Tuesday it was 50 percent. They said he can start to throw at 80 percent.
If it's a stinger in his neck/shoulder, that would make sense that it pinches and affects strength when your raise your arm, but not when you lower it. So that's how he can hit, but not throw.
That sounds encouraging!

Does Patrick O'neal know other adjectives besides "enormous"?

That looked so effortless. What a swing!

Best game I've watched in since the 2002 World Series.
I wasn't an Angel fan back then so this might be the most fun game I've ever seen. The no-hitter after Skaggs' death was special, just a very different atmosphere

Man if Rendon and Ohtani start clicking and Walsh can pick it up a little, this offense is going to be wild

so why is it okay for Marsh to bat against any and all LH starters, but not our all star first baseman Walsh?
Maybe because we only have 3 OF available? Lol

Adell has been hitting the ball hard
0-2 but a xba of .620 and .770 on his swings

Tbh I'd rather have Matty V making wrong calls than listen to O'Neal

Now would be the perfect time for Adell to get some reps in the outfield...
So of course Maddon is going to pinch hit Duffy for Rojas

I don't really get the point of releasing Upton if it's to have Adell be in a platoon. At some point you just have to go for it. Give him a legitimate chance and allow him to build up his confidence.

So the umpires have cost us at least 2 runs today...

Why do we need a late inning defensive replacement for Stefanic. Seems like he's doing just fine out there.
