He wants to get rid of Santiago because he hates Mexicans.

How can we say Green hasn't done well? He's at the bench for weeks at a time which ruins his timing, then when he dies get in the game, he's hit .280 and .274 for the Angels. If the Angels were smart, they'd gave him starting in LF and logging some time in at DH and 2B as well.
If they were smart. But they aren't, that's why Matt Joyce is the starting LF, Marc Krauss is on the team, Bedrosian is stuck in AAA while we have no 7th inning option, and they continue to keep Heaney and Tropeano in AAA.

That's really it. MLB is the one who will lose by continuing to restrict viewing access at the end of the day, because many fans will just give up.

Hey, I'm as liberal as they come, and I think the entire idea of not holding Hamilton accountable for his actions is bullshit. Stupid and enabling people are on both sides of the aisle.
 
 
Here's a question. At most large companies, can you just stroll into the CEO's office or get them on the phone whenever you want? This seems like more entitlement on Josh's part to me. If this is even credible, and knowing Josh that's iffy to start, he talked to the front off and they said they'd pass on the message, that's what generally happens in most companies.
 
Plus, as mentioned, there really wasn't anything to talk about here. Josh had obligations to the team in terms of performance, et al; he wasn't living up to them. Some sort of hollow, self-deprecating "yes, I know, I'm not playing well" speech from Josh wouldn't have done anything to change that. I tend to think that Arte was more interested in Josh's actions, not his explanations. Arte wanted to see Josh hit the damn ball, not make excuses about why he didn't.

Pretty simple....Josh was guaranteed $125 mil to be at peek performance to assist the Angels in winning. He sucked and his solution was to seek out illegal drugs to quell his pain. Arte doesn't owe him shit beyond what's in the contract and he's upheld his end despite Josh not upholding his.

Arte is the owner of this club and as the owner he has the right to speak with whoever he wants as well as the right to not speak with whoever he wants.
He also has the right to be pissed at whoever he wants and dispose of whoever he's pissed at however he wants.
We all know that Arte's intentions are whats best for the team... sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don't.
For those of you that think Arte did Hamilton wrong or that Arte is an a-hole, you have that right to think however you want. You don't have the right; however, to make myself or the others in disagreement with you be forced to agree with you.

Funny, my teleport destination is Mexico City.  My son has been known to instantaneously materialize in Madagascar.  As Vegas Halo Fan has indicated, we have SIX blacked out teams here in Las Vegas.  If they're playing different teams, that's 6 of 15 games blacked out.  I consider my daily "commute" to Mexico City an act of civil disobedience. 

I agree, they wouldn't be detrimental at all to either consumers or MLB.com. MLB.com would probably get a lot more subscribers if the blackouts were lifted. They could even set up new a la carte packages for people who just want to see one team and don't need or want the unlimited coverage of every single game for every team.
 
The only ones I could see losing would be cable companies -- because there are probably people who subscribe just for the team coverage, and if the blackout-free MLB.com was available, they'd just go with that instead. I know that's a big thing in LA right now; Time Warner basically is holding the Dodgers broadcasts hostage. I really don't particularly care if the cable companies lose on this, though. Let them lose for setting up this situation in the first place. 

Wilson's very much needed this year, though. IMHO it would be an iffy idea to trade him because they can't really afford to lose a consistent pitcher from the starting rotation. Yes, there's Tropeano, but if Shoemaker continues to flounder, Trop could take *his* spot. And Heaney's an unproven entity as of yet.

Never thought I'd say this but Wilson and Santiago are coming through big time for the team. It's Wesv and Shoe that we can't trust.

According to milb.com Green is batting .319 with 30 hits in 21 games. That's not struggling...

I have an inside source that told me that disarcina told the player to throw it. Does he ever make the right call?

Carlos Perez equaled the number of extra base hits and RBI's that our catchers had produced all season through 26 games.  In just one game he already has half of the total bases that was produced by the catcher position in the first 26 games.
 
In no way am I saying that Carlos Perez is the answer.  It is just crazy to realize how putrid our catchers have been this year.  

On a positive note, the team has been fighting back during this losing streak.

That Sosh has a cousin who runs the Marlins front office.

The last out in the game was Colin Cowgill getting caught stealing...when the tying run for the game was at the plate and the Mariners' pitcher was struggling. Jury's out on whether Cowgill took off on his own (doubtful), whether he had the green light (why) or whether Scioscia just threw him under the bus (my vote).

And sosh trying to save his own ass by throwing a bench player under the bus.

That's a pretty solid ERA for a catcher.

LOL, well under the Devils (Devil Rays at the time!) he was suspended two years, the Angels didn't do that...Charlie should get his teams straight.

Because he lost his ability before he lost his love for the game. I'm sure he'd like to stay around the game, however small the role.

ITA with this and what Stradling said - he seems as though he's the sort of pitcher who is acutely aware of what he's doing out there, and has a lot of pride. It's a lot easier for me to imagine him retiring and returning to the Angels in a support or coaching role than it is to imagine that he will be content to struggle along for the remainder of his contract when he knows he's not getting the job done.
Having said that, it's hard to watch him out there right now. I'd like to think he might be able to sort things out but it's not necessarily going to happen.
