Why is CJ Cron still on this team

Why not give someone else a shot. It doesn't do Cron any good playing 2-3 games a week.

He doesn't hit, play defense, run the bases. Let him get his shit together in Salt Lake.

Efren Navarro is hitting almost .360 in the minors and is versatile. Or how about Green who is also versatile and hitting .345.

It's like they're pulling a Brandon Wood all over again.

They had Green playing 1B today -- you may be seeing him come up soon.

Green and Navarro have never done really well at the major league level. They may be AAAA players at best.

Which is why it makes perfect sense to promote them, play them 2-3 times a week and hope for the best.

About time. He was hitting .273 in 43 games in the majors last year, so he absolutely can do well if he's brought up. At this point if the Angels don't want to use him they should trade him and let him go to a team that WILL give him a chance to play on a regular basis.

I like what Featherston offers us. Give guys a breather every once in a while. He's a poor mans McDonald. I'd like to see some fresh faces getting some chances here though. Either Green or Kubitza. Anything really. This offense needs to get going. It's taking longer than usual to get off it's ass

How can we say Green hasn't done well? He's at the bench for weeks at a time which ruins his timing, then when he dies get in the game, he's hit .280 and .274 for the Angels. If the Angels were smart, they'd gave him starting in LF and logging some time in at DH and 2B as well.

If they were smart. But they aren't, that's why Matt Joyce is the starting LF, Marc Krauss is on the team, Bedrosian is stuck in AAA while we have no 7th inning option, and they continue to keep Heaney and Tropeano in AAA.

I am thoroughly disappointed with how Cron has played at the major league level this year.  He had 16 extra base hits in spring.  He laid off the junk and looked like he had turned a corner.

Right now he doing exactly what will make him a car salesman in two years.  Swinging at everything.  Lunging and fishing like crazy.  Not having any quality at bats whatsoever.  When some guys press, they swing less and let the game come to them.  He looks downright awful.

Matt Joyce has about 20-30 at bats left before they make a really tough choice.

If things don't change by the end of the road trip, Joyce is done and Cron is gonna get sent down.  They are gonna give Kieshnick and Marte a shot here very soon and rightly so.

Considering that right now there are six guys on the active roster beneath the Mendoza Line and another two or three who are pretty damn close to it, I still fail to see how Green's .261 would not be an improvement.

I said in 2 posts above that he (as well as Navarro) is an upgrade. Just not the solution. Overall it's a sad situation for this offense.
